I’ve been surrounded by animals for as long as I can remember and have a lifelong love for their care and wellbeing. Growing up, I shared my home with both small and large dogs, from a lively Yorkshire Terrier to my current rescue, a large mixed dog who came into my life after I volunteered at an animal shelter abroad.

Over the years, I’ve built up a wide range of hands-on experience with dogs and cats of all temperaments and needs. In Dublin, I volunteered regularly at local animal shelters, where I walked dogs of all sizes and temperaments. Later, I spent three months living and working at an animal shelter on Kos Island, Greece, caring for both cats and dogs. Many of the animals there required extra attention—some were recovering from surgery, on medication, or needed patient handling due to past trauma. This gave me valuable experience in providing not just basic care, but also compassionate support for animals in recovery or those needing a little extra reassurance.

Through these experiences, I’ve developed a strong understanding of animal behavior, the importance of consistency, and the patience needed to earn an animal’s trust. I know how to safely handle large, strong dogs as well as more delicate or nervous animals.
