This was the first time I let my corgi Cooper stay in someone else's house and I couldn't be happier with my choice! Patty and Lars are great, friendly dog sitters who are very experienced with different kinds of dogs (meaning they can manage also smart and sassy corgis, which was important to me) and their love for animals is very much apparent. Their house is amazingly equipped for dog guests, including their own dog-proofed room with a camera and access to their own fenced part of the garden. Their two own German shepherds Kiva and Shake are some of the best behaved and trained dogs I've ever met and were fine even with a corgi who is used to bother other dogs a lot for play. While minding Cooper both Patty and Lars sent regular updates every day, including many videos. In addition to all the standard caretaking tasks, they took time to do training sessions, took Cooper for forest walks with other dogs and generally made sure he had a great time at their home. I'm very happy I chose Patty and Lars as dog sitters and will be happy to leave Cooper with them many more times in the future!

As others have said before, Sabrina is a great dog sitter! She is especially patient and understanding of rescue dogs that require a little help to feel settled and secure in a new environment. Sabrina was not put off during the meet and greet when my very anxious rescue was at first reactive toward her own dog, but instead suggested a trial afternoon where I dropped my dog with her for a few hours. With her patience and calming energy, she won my dog over and also impressed me with her perseverance and kindness. During our vacation, Sabrina sent daily updates and photos. We were always secure in the knowledge that we had left our dog in the best possible hands.

Frequently asked questions

Your dog boarding questions answered

What are home dog boarding services?

With home dog boarding, your dog stays overnight at a sitter’s home. Instead of being in a crowded dog kennel or dog hotel, your dog can be in a comfortable home and receive the same quality level of love and care you would provide.

Who's boarding my dog?

Pawshake only accepts sitters who have experience and/or qualifications caring for pets. You will get to search, choose and have a free meet and greet with your sitter prior to making a booking.

Where will my dog be staying?

Your dog will be staying at the sitter's home. Be sure to discuss any requirements with your sitter prior to booking. The more your sitter knows about your pet, the better! That way they can really ensure that your pet has the best and most comfortable stay.

How do I choose a sitter?

Visit the sitter's profile and read about their background, home and experience. Then request a free meet and greet. If you are happy with the sitter’s dog boarding environment and how well they bond with your dog, confirm your booking on Pawshake.
