Hello, Pawshake community! I’m Maria Paola, originally from Italy, and I’ve been living in the Netherlands for the past eight years.

Dogs have been part of my life for as long as I can remember, and so have cats. A little over a year ago, I said goodbye to my beloved dog, Dash, who shared 16 and a half wonderful years with me. She travelled the world by my side and charmed everyone she met with her unforgettable Dachshund-Chihuahua personality. Losing her was heartbreaking, and while I’m not quite ready to welcome another dog of my own, caring for other people’s pets has brought a lot of joy back into my life.

Every dog has their own personality, and I believe every one of them deserves love, patience, and attention. Whether your furry friend is tiny or large, young or old, full of energy or happiest curled up on the sofa, I’ll do my best to make them feel safe, comfortable, and cared for.

Perhaps you need someone to look after your dog while you enjoy a concert, catch a movie, spend a day out, take a well-deserved holiday, or simply have a little time to yourself. Whatever the reason, I’d be delighted to help!

I understand that leaving your pet in someone else’s care requires trust. Your dog isn’t just a pet; they’re family. I’ll respect their routines, pay attention to their individual needs, and make sure they receive plenty of affection and companionship. Whether that means enjoying a lovely walk, playing together, exploring the neighbourhood, or keeping each other company during a quiet afternoon, I’m happy to adapt to what makes your dog happiest.

My goal is simple: for your dog to feel loved and for you to enjoy your time away knowing they’re in caring hands.
