Hello pet owners!

My name is Joep, i am 22 years old and born and raised in The Netherlands. My interests are travel, photography, tv, drones, music and last but not least, pets. I have recently started to study in Amsterdam after living here for a while and I am looking for a suitable side job. I would describe myself as social, caring and clean. My current minor is very flexible and mainly online, which makes me very available to petsit and adjust to the preferences of the owner. This means that i could be around your pet to take care of it at any time of the day, which can be achieved effortlessly by home stays.

I discovered Pawshake through a friend of mine, who is also a pet sitter and explained to me how it works. This is the ideal job for me because I have had a dog for over 10 years and spend a lot of time with him. My dog made me familiar with many possible situations such as fear for fireworks and unexpected behaviour.

In addition, I have babysat cats and dogs of friends and acquaintances before, which was always a pleasant experience to me. I get a lot of pleasure out of taking long walks with dogs and petting them in order to feel comfortable with me. On a rainy day i am likely to go on a 30 minute walk with a dog, but longer with good weather conditions. I preferably walk pets in a park in order for them to be in a natural environment and having space. I am comfortable with diverse simple tasks like giving your pets their medication.

I see house care as an obvious priority along with pet care, and I welcome any detailed instructions you wish to share. The time spent in the pet owner's house will be depending on the needs of the pet and at least 30 minutes. In the case of a homestay visit, I would be available to stay in the house all day besides running errands such as groceries. Before leaving the house it is manditory for me to ensure the pets are comfortable and the house is locked and secured. I can provide ongoing communication by sharing updates about the pets and the house while staying there.

I have also become a cat lover through family members recently. Meanwhile, I have also had the opportunity to babysit my niece's cat twice, who is quite shy and has a difficult character. Fortunately through a calm approach, after a while the cat felt comfortable enough to come and sit on my lap by itself. I would be too happy to babysit other pets and give them all the attention they deserve :)
