Hi, my name is Amalia. I am 27 years old, originally from Belgium, grew up in France, and now live in Amsterdam. I work in finance at a large Dutch bank and regularly work from home.

Animals have always been a big part of my life. I grew up surrounded by dogs, helped raise 12 puppies when my childhood dog had a litter, rode horses for many years, and volunteered with shelter dogs during my travels in Latin America. Over the years, I have learned how to understand dogs’ body language, adapt to their individual personalities, and help them feel safe and comfortable.

People often describe me as patient, reliable, and attentive. I enjoy following routines that dogs are already familiar with, as I know consistency helps them feel secure. Whether a dog is energetic and playful, older and calm, or a little shy and sensitive, I enjoy taking the time to build trust and create a positive experience.

I recently welcomed a young miniature dachshund into my home. Because I am currently focusing on his training and socialisation, I am particularly interested in connecting with local dog owners. I regularly work from home, but I am usually in the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays. On those days, I am looking for someone who could occasionally help with a midday walk or potty break for my puppy.

At the same time, I would be happy to help other dog owners as well. I am available for walks, drop-in visits, companionship, and other dog care services (I am flexible on the service if we make an agreement). Depending on the dogs and the situation, I am open to having my puppy join walks or visits to help with socialisation, but I am equally happy to keep dogs separate if that is preferred.

I am open to flexible and personalised arrangements. For example, if our office schedules complement each other, we could help one another by taking care of each other’s dogs when needed. Every dog and owner is different, so I am always happy to discuss solutions that work best for everyone involved.
