About Isabel
About me
I’ve been surrounded by dogs since the day I was born. In fact, my uncle was gifted a German Shepherd puppy by a client on the very day I came into the world. His name was Lagun, which means “friend” in Basque—and that’s exactly what he became to me.
Growing up next door to my uncle and grandmother, I saw Lagun almost every day. I played with him constantly and joined my uncle on walks, forming a bond that shaped my love for dogs from a very early age. He wasn’t just part of the family—he was my companion, my protector, and my first real connection with animals.
Lagun even became locally famous for a day when he saved my uncle’s life. My uncle suffered sunstroke while in the sea and lost consciousness. Lagun pulled him out of the water and alerted nearby swimmers until help arrived. He was incredibly loyal, intelligent, and well-trained—an unforgettable dog.
That early experience stayed with me. Later, I adopted my own Boxer, Clyde, and over the years I’ve cared for many other dogs. When I moved to London, I had to leave that daily contact behind, but I was fortunate to regularly care for a friend’s Shih Tzus. For over 13 years, I’ve looked after them several times a year, often for one to two weeks at a time. That experience made me especially comfortable with smaller breeds and their specific needs.
Back in Spain, my father has always had dogs at his country home. One in particular, Trapo (which means “cloth” in Spanish), completely stole my heart. He was gentle, sensitive, and incredibly affectionate—always giving me something to look forward to whenever I visited.
Dogs have always been a constant in my life. I understand their different personalities, respect their routines, and genuinely enjoy giving them the care, attention, and affection they deserve. Whether it’s long walks, playtime, or simply keeping them company, I treat every dog as if they were my own.
Dog Sitting & Walking Services
I offer reliable, caring dog sitting services including boarding, overnight stays, and daily dog walking. My goal is to provide a safe, structured, and loving environment where your dog feels comfortable, happy, and well looked after while you're away.
Experience & Preferences
I am happy to care for small and medium-sized dogs of all breeds, with no particular preference. I do, however, have extensive hands-on experience with Shih Tzus, Poodles, and German Shepherds, and I am very comfortable understanding their different temperaments, energy levels, and care needs.
Daily Routine
A typical day is structured to ensure your dog stays active, well-hydrated, and relaxed:
- Morning
- Fresh water provided first thing to ensure proper hydration
- Morning toilet break immediately after waking
- First walk of the day (30–45 minutes depending on the dog’s energy level)
- Breakfast and quiet rest time
- Midday
- Second toilet break
- Outdoor time or a shorter walk (15–30 minutes)
- Playtime, mental stimulation, or light training exercises
- Regular water checks and refilling to keep hydration consistent
- Afternoon / Early Evening
- Third walk of the day (30–60 minutes depending on needs)
- Outdoor time for exploration and exercise
- Social interaction, play, or calm companionship indoors
- Evening / Night
- Dinner
- Final toilet breaks (1–2 shorter outings before bedtime)
- Relaxed wind-down time to ensure your dog feels settled and secure overnight
- Fresh water always available overnight
Toilet Breaks & Outdoor Time
Dogs are taken out for toilet breaks at least 4–6 times per day, with 2–3 structured walks daily plus additional outdoor time depending on their needs. I adjust frequency for puppies, seniors, or dogs with specific requirements.
Hydration & Wellbeing
I pay close attention to hydration, ensuring fresh water is always available and regularly refreshed throughout the day, especially after walks and playtime.
Overnight Care
For overnight stays, your dog will receive companionship, comfort, and supervision, maintaining their usual routine as closely as possible to reduce stress.
I aim to provide a home-away-from-home experience where your dog feels safe, loved, and well cared for at all times .
