I’m Ashley and I want to care for your pet. 

I have a lifetime of experience, as I grew up with dogs (and the occasional cat) as part of the family. After losing my own beloved canine roommate, Finn, a couple of years ago, I have a pet-sized hole in my life and decided that petsitting would be a great way to share the love until I feel ready to bring a new friend home. 

I live in a one-bedroom apartment in Amsterdam, a short 3-minute walk to the Vondelpark. I have two dog beds and towels for drying off after rainy outings plus a basket of toys for supervised play. Much of your dog’s activity will be centered around outdoor adventures in the park and around the neighborhood. I work part-time from home so your dog will have regular company. I have a small balcony overlooking the street, which provides entertainment as well. Unfortunately, my place is not equipped for cats, but I am available for home visits and/or housesitting for your feline friends. 

I believe that a tired pet is a happy pet, so lots of walking and playing as part of my time with them is key. For dogs in particular, I know that it is an important factor in helping them to be confident, calm, and to trust me as a part of their pack. Walks and/or home visits are a minimum of one hour. For home stays, I provide a minimum of two big walks per day and shorter walks for bathroom breaks as necessary.  

I have experience with pets of all ages, from kittens and puppies to senior animals that may need medication or a slower pace. I'm available for home visits, walks, housesitting and in-home stays. (Regarding in-home stays: my place is on the first floor, so it may not be ideal for dogs that find stairs difficult.)
