(English and Dutch possible) I've been petsitting and a pet owner for over 20 years. I was a professional petsitter in the USA and have also petsat in Europe since 2015. Now I am based in the Hague/Leidschendam and want to pet sit for you. I specialize in cats and small animals, but dogs are also possible :) 💖 -- About me: In terms of personal animal care experience, I've had pets since I was 5 years old and I am also currently a pet owner. My cat is a 7 year old rescue and I also have a bird. I have been petsitting since I was a child and have owned/taken care of many animals (cats, dogs, birds, rodents, fish), so I understand animal behavior and habits, both good and naughty. My experience includes befriending sassy cats and making shy cats more comfortable by giving them the time they need to get used to a person and know they are safe around me. Actually, my current cat didn't let anyone in the shelter touch her for 3 years and I was able to pet her within 1.5 months of adoption 🥹 She is a lap cat now 🥰 I love giving pets the space they need in order to be more comfortable with people. My bird, for example, hated hands when she started living with me, but now she gets on my hand and lets me pet her. She also used to hate vegetables and now eats them all the time 🥬 I believe my experience makes me uniquely qualified to care for your animals. 💖 -- House visits and walking For house visits, I offer everything that makes your pet comfortable. Of course the basics like feeding, giving medicine, changing water, scooping litter, etc. I know that cats and other animals have a ton of different personalities. If your pet wants, I can cuddle or play with him/her. If they like to be left alone, that is also possible. For example, your cat and I can slow blink at each other to build friendship 🥰 I understand pet (especially cat and bird) behavior well and even volunteer for a cat and dog rescue organization (from which I adopted my cat). Dog owners, please read the info about house visits vs. dog walking services carefully. Service details: Cat and small animals (rodents, guinea pigs, birds) house visits: Each visit includes: Feeding, watering, and snacks Cleaning pet areas / supplies Playtime Video and photo updates Plant Care Medicine (if needed) Dog walking (WALK ONLY!!!) 30 minutes with your dog (preparing the dog for a walk and then taking him/her on the walk in the remaining time). Video/photo updates Playtime All walks are on-leash Does NOT include feeding or other responsibilities like watering plants and washing bowls. (If you need someone to feed your dog, water your plants, and any service that is NOT walking, please schedule a house visit). House visits (Dogsitting): 30 minutes at your home. A walk is included within the 30 minutes Feed, water, and play with the dog Clean the bowls Water houseplants Pictures/videos Take the dog on a walk within the 30 minute visit. For example, if it takes 10 minutes to feed the dog, the walk will be 20 minutes). All dog walks are on-leash.
