I absolutely love dogs!! I have two golden retrievers back home in South Africa that I miss so much. Their names are Jäger and Shandy (both drink names). I love going on dog walks / runs so that they can get their daily sniffs in. As an international student, I love being around dogs as it makes me feel less homesick and makes me smile. 
I also love cats! I had a cat growing up named Fanta (also named after a drink haha) who we had from when I was born until I was 16. She was nearly 20 when she died! I love that cats can take care of themselves but need a cuddle every now and then.

Hallo, ik ben Xannelou! 
Ik heb ervaring met honden, zelf heb ik vroeger een hondje gehad (teckel), maar die is een aantal jaar geleden helaas overleden. Nu wil ik geen vaste hond meer maar vind ik het nog steeds erg leuk om met honden te wandelen/op te passen. Ik pas wel eens op de honden/katten van vrienden, dus hier heb ik ervaring mee. Ook heb ik ervaring met pups, wij nemen zo af en toe een nestje vanuit Frankrijk mee naar Nederland om ze zindelijk te maken, goed aan de lijn te laten lopen etc. voor de komende eigenaren, maar dit doe ik liever niet meer. Ik bied ook geen training of vachtverzorging aan.
Mijn voorkeur gaat uit naar lieve, sociale honden. Het liefst heb ik een adresje dat bij mij in de buurt is. Ik woon zowel in de buurt van Rotterdam (Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel) als in Leiden en er wonen verder geen andere honden, katten of kleine kinderen bij mij thuis. Ik ben door de week in Leiden en in het weekend vaak in Nieuwerkerk. Ik bied zowel uitlaatservice en huisbezoeken aan.

Ik ben een echte dierenvriend en heb van jongs af aan een grote liefde voor dieren ontwikkeld. Zelf heb ik altijd katten gehad, waardoor ik goed begrijp wat zij nodig hebben aan zorg, aandacht en rust. Ik vind het belangrijk dat dieren zich veilig en op hun gemak voelen, en neem daar graag de tijd voor. Ieder dier heeft zijn eigen persoonlijkheid, en daar speel ik graag op in. Ik zal dan ook als ik langskom foto's maken voor verificatie van mijn aanwezigheid. Door mijn lange ervaring met katten snap ik heel goed dat een betrouwbare oppas met hart voor je huisdier een must is.
Daarnaast heb ik ruime ervaring met honden. Van mijn 12e tot mijn 18e heb ik in mijn buurt een kleine uitlaatservice gehad, waarbij ik regelmatig met verschillende honden ging wandelen. Hierdoor heb ik geleerd om verantwoordelijkheid te nemen en goed te letten op het gedrag en de behoeften van elk dier tijdens het uitlaten.
Ik ben verantwoordelijk, geduldig en zorgzaam, en behandel ieder dier alsof het mijn eigen huisdier is. Of het nu gaat om spelen, knuffelen, voeren of wandelen: ik zorg ervoor dat jouw dier alle aandacht, liefde en zorg krijgt die het verdient. Jij kunt met een gerust hart weg, terwijl ik voor jouw dier klaarsta.


Ik ben een student in Leiden en ik zou graag mijn extra tijd opvullen met het knuffelen en zorgen voor honden en katten! Ik mis de katten bij mijn ouders en het omringd zijn met dieren enorm. Ook hou ik er van om lange wandelingen te maken met de hond van mijn buren.&nbsp;
Van jongs af aan ben ik opgegroeid met huisdieren, waardoor ik goed aanvoel wat dieren nodig hebben om zich veilig en op hun gemak te voelen. Ik doe zowel korte wandelingen als lange wandelingen, van een kwartiertje tot 2 uur, en ik kan hele dagen bij u thuis op uw huisdier passen! Dan houd ik uw huis uiteraard netjes en ik stuur regelmatig updates. Bij oudere dieren creëer ik een rustige sfeer, bij jonge dieren hou ik het juist speels! Ik ben er voor alle soorten dieren :)

Of het nu gaat om wandelen, spelen, eten geven, medicatie toedienen of gewoon knuffelen – ik stem mijn zorg altijd af op de behoeften van het dier. Hun comfort en welzijn staan voorop.
Daarnaast haal ik er zelf veel voldoening uit om tijd met dieren door te brengen. Elk dier heeft zijn eigen karakter, en ik vind het mooi om daar een band mee op te bouwen. Als dierenoppas wil ik niet alleen praktische zorg bieden, maar ook aandacht en liefde, zodat het dier zich veilig en op zijn gemak voelt.
Wat ik belangrijk vind, is open en duidelijke communicatie met het baasje. Je kunt van mij regelmatige updates verwachten en ik sta altijd open voor specifieke wensen of instructies. Zo kun je met een gerust hart weg, wetende dat je huisdier in goede handen is.

I'm looking for a side job that will allow me to earn some income while maintaining a stable work/life/study balance. I love animals and find a lot of comfort in their presence. I have two cats and one dog at home and would love to make some new pet friends while I'm away. I volunteered at an animals shelter in the past. I was my responsibility to walk the dogs twice daily. The dogs ranged from small to large, and puppies to seniors. It was also my job to clean their kennels while their were away on walks. I also volunteered with the cat kennels as well, where I would clean the litter and feed them twice daily. I have experience will all types of pets and am willing to go for walks at any time of day during any type of weather.

Hi there! I'm Emma and I’m a lifelong animal lover who moved to Leiden in 2025 from South Africa with my little dog, Luna. I’ve grown up with pets all my life (including dogs, cats, rodents, and birds) and have several years of experience as a pet sitter back home.
I offer doggie daycare in my home during the week, which is perfect for owners who don’t want to leave their dog alone during the day when they are away. I work from home, so your dog will have full supervision, attention, and a calm, safe environment throughout working hours. I also offer overnight boarding (during both the week and on weekends).
Luna, my sweet 9-year-old female dachshund cross, is friendly and used to having other dogs around, she’ll happily keep your doggie company.
During the day, I take the dogs out for three walks (around 10am, 1.30pm and 4pm), usually to Ankerpark and Blekerspark, both just opposite my house (photos included). Both parks offer an off-leash dog friendly environment. This means plenty of exercise, fresh air, and enrichment. I also have a small patio where the dogs can explore and lay in the sun.
I can accommodate small to medium-sized sociable dogs in my home for daycare. I also look after birds and rhodents. My goal is to make your pet feel comfortable, cared for, and right at home while you’re away.&nbsp;

I'm originally from Los Angeles and studied at the University of Washington in Seattle. Growing up, I had a wonderful dog who was an important part of my life. I was responsible for her daily care, including feeding, walks, playtime, and making sure she always felt happy and loved.
When I moved away for college, I missed having a dog around, so I began walking dogs through Wag in Seattle. It was a great way to spend time with animals while helping busy pet owners, and it confirmed how much I enjoy caring for dogs of all sizes and personalities.
