Hoi! My name is Katharina, I’m 27 years old, and I’m originally from Germany. I recently moved to Utrecht with my Dutch boyfriend to start my PhD at Utrecht University. My Dutch is improving steadily—I’m currently at B1.2 level.

I have always loved animals and really miss having them in my life. That’s why I would be very happy to care for your pet—it feels like a win-win situation!

I’m flexible and happy to adapt each visit to your pet’s individual needs, whether that means longer walks, playtime, feeding, cuddles, or simply keeping them company. For dogs, walks can range from a short 20–30-minute walk to longer walks of around an hour, depending on their energy level, routine, and what you prefer for them. I’m also happy to care for multiple pets at once, as long as I know their individual routines and needs.

I always make sure pets are supervised and comfortable. If I am caring for a pet in my home, I would only leave them alone for short periods when necessary, such as for groceries or an appointment, and never longer than agreed with the owner. I will always follow your instructions regarding feeding, medication, exercise, sleeping arrangements, and anything else that helps your pet feel safe and at home.

In case of an emergency, I would contact you immediately and follow the plan we agreed on beforehand. If urgent veterinary care is needed, I would take your pet to your preferred vet or the nearest emergency clinic, depending on the situation.

I live in Strijkviertel, a clean, calm, and pet-friendly area. Pets are allowed in our building, and our apartment (third floor but available via an elevator) has two bedrooms, a living room, and a balcony where I love relaxing in the sun—ideally with a furry companion beside me!

I’m a calm, responsible person who enjoys going for walks, spending time outdoors, and enjoying the gezellig side of life. I had a cat for 22 years, so I understand the care, patience, and affection pets need. I’m also a horse girl at heart! While I’m not actively riding at the moment (you can get the girl away from the horse, but not the horse out of the girl, hehe), I gained practical, basic experience in medical care with several horses on a farm after high school.
