Dear Pawshake Community,

I am Irem, an experienced cat and dog sitter who lives in the Vogelenbuurt area of Utrecht. Growing up in Istanbul, I always felt a sense of connection to the stray dogs and cats around me. Currently, I work as a freelancer, often from home, and I have a horeca job one day of the weekend. Since I am still settling into life in the city, I am not able to commit to having my own pet, but I can’t be without them, so I found Pawshake a year ago!

I live in a 20 sqm 2-flat city house on the top floor, and because of its condition, it’s important to keep an eye on how your pet is doing on the stairs. I am down to help them carry downstairs for a walk, but I can handle max up to 8 kg.

My new place is peaceful and spacious, yet not too big, so please keep that in mind. I have multiple city parks around me. Plus, I can offer up to 20 minutes of walking twice per day. It is important for me to provide comfort and safety to every being who comes to my house, so I don’t see this experience as just “being with them”.

Please feel free to mention any specific needs your furry friend has; I will make sure they have a temporary, loving new place.
