About Seanna
Ever since I was a young girl I've had a great love for pets. I cannot remember a time when I did not love animals.
My first relevant experience with a pet was with my grandmother's dog. His name was Boss and he was a Great Dane. Naturally, he was a large dog and I was a little girl back then. I remember always standing in his vicinity when I visited my grandmother, but never daring to get close.
Then one day, my older cousin noticed me looking at Boss and asked if I wanted to pet him. Hesitantly, I nodded because I was a little afraid of Boss. But my cousin helped me approach him and pet him. I believe that was one of the first time I got that close to a dog.
Ever since that day, whenever I went to visit my grandmother I walked straight to Boss and hung out with him. From that moment on, I begged my parents for a pet non-stop.
Unfortunately, my parents were not animal-people. But on one beautiful day a lost kitten made his way to our yard. We brought him in and cared for him until he passed away. His name was Kimmy.
A few years later, in 2016, my dad surprised me with a puppy. He was a 3 months old poodle mix. I named him Toshy. Toshy was a wonderful addition to our family and brought us so much joy. He is now 10 years old and living his best life.
About 6 years ago I moved to The Netherlands. Since then, I haven't had a pet. Lately I've been feeling a lot like opening my home to a furry friend, but unfortunately, I do not have the time and space to raise a pet of my own.
A few months ago a friend of mine told me she joined Pawshake as a petsitter, and she's really enjoying taking care of other people's pets and offering a loving home for a few hours or days. I have been thinking of also joining Pawshake but wasn't really sure.
Finally, I decided to give it a try. I cannot have a pet of my own at this time, but I'm more than happy to take care and love on someone else's pet for a few hours. We will cuddle, go on walks, play together, have grooming sessions if needed and have adequate rest.
Beside Pawshake, I also have a different job. During my working hours I will not do any petsitting as I will not be home to responsibly look after the pet. During hours and days I'm not working I will open my home for your pet. This is different each week because I have a flexible work schedule.
I base the lengths of walkies largely on dog age, size and breed. But in general they will be 30 to 60 minutes. Of course, I will also take into account any preferences and restrictions you have for your pet.
I have experience administering medication orally and by ear for dogs. For oral medication I usually use peanut butter or other pet-safe treats for dogs, to distract the dog and hide the medication from them. Ear medication can also require much distraction. I do this by making silly sounds and also have a treat at hand.
It will be a privilege for me to welcome your pet in my home!
