About Narda

Updated on August 27 2023 at 11:23:00.

Please read carefully before booking.

ABOUT ME

My name is Narda and I’m 28 years old. I’m originally from Peru but I moved to Spain when I was 12. I’ve been calling The Netherlands my home since 2014.

I have been surrounded by animals my whole life. I got my first dog when I was 2 (Dino) and my second when I turned 5 (Sammy). I was also in charge of feeding my grandparents’ cats and cleaning their litter boxes during the time I lived with them (8 to 12 years old).

I’m now lucky enough to call myself a cat mum to a big orange-cream Maine Coon called Apollo and a loving but very shy tuxedo cat called Onyx.

As of 18 August 2023, I’ve just started a course on Animal Behaviour given by the University of Wageningen and eventually, I’d like to start a course on Animal Nutrition since it’s something I’ve been interested in since Onyx got sick a couple of years ago, with the aim to give him and Apollo a better quality of life.

So, apart from being an animal lover who looks after other people’s pets as my own, I’m also interested in learning how to care for them and handle them appropriately.

MY SERVICES

We will first plan a meet and greet to make sure we’re both on the same page when it comes to the care of your pet. Once we’ve met and only if we’re both comfortable, we will continue with the booking process.

A typical home visit will last around 30 minutes. I will feed your furry friend, take them for a walk, provide play time, and cuddle them if they allow me. I will also clean their litter box every time I visit.

I can administer oral medication if needed. Please note: I can’t and have never administered shots so keep that in mind if you have a pet who needs it. I’m more than willing to learn how to do so but I will need guidance from you.

I want you to know your pet is in good hands but my aim is to not overwhelm you while you’re away so it’s up to you how often you’d like to receive updates. If not specified, you will receive a text and a picture from me every day before I leave your house.

🐱 CATS

While I’m at your place I will make sure your cat has food, fresh water, a clean litter box and play time if they’re up for it.

A typical home visit will last around 30 minutes UNLESS your cat is scared or hiding. Then I will leave before the half an hour is up to avoid stressing your pet more.

Cats thrive on routine and that’s why I always aim to visit around the same time. For example, if I arrive at your home at 10:00 am on the first day, I will continue to do so for the rest of the booking unless something that cannot be rescheduled comes up.

🐶 DOGS

If the weather allows it, your dog and I will go for a 30-minute walk. We will also play and exercise our bodies and minds together.

If the weather is bad, we will take a shorter walk so they can take a potty break. After that, I will bring your dog back home, play with them and keep them company for the rest of the visit.

What I kindly ask from you as a pet owner is:

If the keys are not given to me during the initial meet and greet, you are more than welcome to drop them by my house when it’s suitable for you. Just please make sure to let me know at what time you’ll be there.

One if not THE most important responsibility I have is to keep your pet safe while you are not home. Letting your cat outside brings up many dangers and that’s why I would rather keep him/her indoors during the length of the booking. If you are aware of the risks and decide to let your pet go out, you become responsible for anything that may happen during the visits.

Every house has a different set of rules. You might not like your cat going into your bedroom or you might not want your dog playing on the couch. It’s handy for me to know what your pets are allowed to do and what they’re not.

Basic cleaning supplies such as broom, dustpan, and wet wipes so if your pet makes something dirty I can clean it up.

Your pet’s passport and carrier to be placed in sight in case of an emergency.

I have created a form that I will ask you to fill in during the initial meet and greet (once we’ve stablished if we’ll be going through with the booking) so I can have all the important information at hand, such as vet phone number, address, emergency contact, feeding schedule, etc…

If someone (partner, family members…) were to go into your house while you’re away or you were to return home sooner than expected, please notify me with a clear message. Communication is key and I don’t wanna intrude in your home if someone else is there.

Because of a privacy policy, I want to be notified if there are cameras in the house and if they record with sound.

I will gladly collect any post that might arrive and water your plants (at your own risk since I don’t have a green thumb). However, things such as watering the garden are not included in the pet-sitting fee.

If you need me to administer medication or to visit your pet at a specific time, please make sure to mention this at the meet and greet at the latest.

If once you’re back home and the booking is finished you’re not satisfied with my services, please contact me directly first so we can try to work something out. If you are satisfied, please leave a review so other owners can have an idea of what to expect from my services. Thank you!

EXTRAS

Collecting the post that may arrive, watering your house plants, and taking the trash bins out are things that are included in the pet-sitting fee. If you would like me to water your garden, vacuum, and/or mop a €10 fee will be charged.

If there were to be more than two cats per household, a one-time €5 fee needs to be added per extra cat to the visit fee. This is because I will most likely end up staying longer than 30 minutes to make sure your pets have everything they need.
