I am Defne, 26 years old young women who absolutely adores animals. I always had an animal when I'm growing up from rabbits to cats and I was responsible from their well-beings and for caring for them. I just moved to the Netherlands a year ago and have been missing my cat that I grew up with since then. Unfortunately, he's super old at this point and moving him to another country would cause a health risk so I had to leave my cat behind at my mum's house. Since I moved here, I have been pet sitting my friend's cat regularly but she doesn't need it aymore as much as she needed before. I decided to try and join a trust worthy pet sitting community to help other people care for their fur babies since I know however you care for your pet, you sometimes need some external help or support to make sure they're safe and taken care of when other responsibilities or plans get in the way. I am well experienced about caring cats and somewhat experienced about dogs but my love and excitement to care for them both is the same. I am currently living in an apartment that I share with my fiancee and we have more than enough space for an animal to join us time to time here. Additionally, I am a self-employed interior designer and mostly I make my own hours which gives me the great flexibility to have the time to spend with the fur babies. One of the main reasons that I want to become a pet sitter is, before eventually we adopt a cat or a dog, help others as much as we can and see how having one around will fit in our new lives here. I am currently pursuing a master's in law at Erasmus University, which brought me to the Netherlands. I grew up in an incredibly animal-loving family, especially my mother, who is well-known among her friends for her deep love of animals. Since childhood, we’ve hosted many pets in our home, which has shaped my deep affection for them. I love caring for animals and see them as true companions and friends. This love for animals has been a constant in my life and motivates me to engage with them whenever I can. Since I’m here for my studies, my cat is staying with my family in my home country, and I miss him dearly. This distance from him only strengthens my motivation to care for and connect with other pets during my time here. Being surrounded by animals continues to bring me immense joy and fulfillment, and it is something I always seek out. I can host cats at my home.


My name is Lisa Drinkwater, and I grew up with a rescue dog at my parents’ house. Every weekend I spent time training her. Rescue dogs can come with a history of trauma, so it takes consistency, patience, and attention to help them feel secure. We bonded well, and spending time together became something I really enjoyed. Now that I live alone in Rotterdam, I’m no longer around her, and I realise how much I miss having animals in my daily life. I work as a freelancer, which means I have flexible hours and plenty of time in between projects, especially in the mornings and evenings. I’ve always enjoyed the routine of walking and caring for a dog, and I find it rewarding to work with them. I have owned, walked and looked after dogs both in the UK and in The Netherlands. I love dogs. I love the walks, the cuddles, all the different personalities. I was brought up with labradors and spaniels. And have owned and bred spaniels in the UK, as well as sitting and walking various dogs both there and here in Rotterdam. I am also used to administer medicines.&nbsp; I moved to Rotterdam 3+ years ago with my now senior spaniels. We live in a very spacious place, with enclosed dog friendly garden and I have time, energy and patience to look after and/or walk all different dogs, young, senior, small, large, nervous, relaxed... I prefer to walk/visit and look after your dog&nbsp; based from your home as I can give them more time and they are in their familiar surroundings. I have quite a bit of experience with animals, because I used to walk our neighbours dog all the time (sometimes several times a day oops). I've wanted a dog since I was little, but I was never allowed to. Now I can walk your dog (which feels relatively close to owning one myself). I also ride horses if that says anything!
