Pets are people – each with their own personality, history and needs, and that’s how I care for them.

I grew up with dogs and have spent years volunteering in dog rescue: rescuing and rehoming dogs, screening adopters, and serving on the board of a rescue organisation. Over the years I adopted three rescue dogs (all sighthound, so I deeply respect breed quirkiness) and two rescue cats, who have all since passed away after long, loved lives. I’m between pets at the moment, so I’m free to give yours my full attention.

Rescue taught me patience. I have hands-on experience with reactive dogs, resource guarding and nervous or shy animals, and I use positive reinforcement only: no punishment, no pressure. I enjoy clicker training, sniff work and agility games. I even taught my reactive podenco to jump through a hoop!

What I offer

🐕 Dog walking – one dog at a time (or dogs from the same household). Walks are 30 or 60 minutes, and most dogs do best with an hour. Quiet routes for reactive dogs, plus sniffing, play or a little training if you’d like.

🏡 House sitting – I stay in your home, so your pet can keep their own routine, bed and familiar surroundings. This is ideal for anxious or reactive animals who find change stressful. It includes walks, feeding, play and company.

🐈 Cat visits – 30-minute visits including feeding, fresh water, litter cleaning, play and cuddles, and medication if needed. Shy cats are welcome; I’ll go at their pace. Two visits a day are possible.

Keys and home security

I collect your keys at our meet-and-greet and keep them safe, never labelled with your address. While I’m caring for your pet, I lock doors and close windows every time I leave, and I’m happy to bring in the post, water plants or turn lights on and off. At the end of the booking, I return your keys in person or as we’ve agreed.
