Matina
Student Who Misses Her Pets

About Matina
Due to work I am not currently in the Netherlands. I will be back in November, but after that I will also begin working in Breda so unfortunately my schedule is very limited for the upcoming months!
Hi, my name is Matina! I am currently studying Medicine in Rotterdam. I am very open and friendly and severley miss my own pets back home in Zambia. *Ik spreek ook Nederlands!* (English is my mother tongue and my Dutch is not 100% perfect). I share my apartment with a roommate and my roommate unfortunately doesn't like pets, but I would love to either house sit, house visit or even just do some dog walking. I was a volunteer for an animal organisation in South Africa (where I did my high school career) called SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) and looked after several of their shelter animals as part of my volunteering. One of the pictures I uploaded here (the one with the two puppies) are two puppies that I worked with at the shelter, and helped to get adopted into family homes as pets.
I have loved animals since I was very young and have two mixed shelter dogs and two German Shepherds at home as well as one cat. I have grown up around animals all my life and have really missed all animal contact since I moved to the Netherlands to complete my studies. My reasoning for becoming a sitter/walker on Pawshake is that I would like to interact with animals again and would love to play with your pets.
I have recently moved into an apartment around the beautiful Noordplein and nearby there is a perfect canal to go walking along with lots of trees and other dogs about.
From end of August until next year February I will be very busy with the final parts of my Master study. Therefore I am very limited in the number of bookings I can accept! I will try to keep my calendar as updated as possible!
SERVICE INFORMATION:
I am happy to look after a variety of animals.
House visits:
I typically pass by in the mornings and/or evenings, depending on how many visits you request. A home visit will normally be a half-hour, but I aim to fulfill all needs in that time (cleaning litter, giving food etc.) and I am open to helping out in other ways (watering plants etc.). I do also tend to spend extra time just cuddling/playing with your pet if they enjoy that as well! When we meet up to get to know each-other then I am always happy to answer more questions.
House sitting:
Aside from juggling my studies I won't have much else to deal with so I will be able and willing to stay at your apartment to give your pets extra love and attention. I will need to ensure that your apartment is not too far away from EMC, and as such will sometimes have to decline requests. I also have a green thumb, so I can keep your plants alive as well during your vacation away!
Overall, I wish you an amazing day and hope to meet both you and your pets one day!
