Hi! I’m Sarita, and I absolutely love animals. A big part of why I enjoy caring for them is the connection I have with them and the way every animal has their own personality, needs and way of communicating. My love and respect for animals is also one of the reasons I chose to be vegan.

I have had cats and absolutely love them, but most of my hands-on experience comes from living with my two dogs, Jack and Maya. They are both large dogs, but their personalities and needs are completely different, and taking care of them has taught me that caring for an animal is never a one-size-fits-all job.

Jack is 10 years old, although you probably wouldn't guess it! He has the energy of a two-year-old and loves to play, stay active and be involved in everything. As a Scottish Shepherd, he also has hip dysplasia, which means I have to be mindful of his physical limitations. He often wants more activity than his body can comfortably handle, so I have learned to be creative and find other ways to keep him entertained and mentally stimulated without putting too much strain on his hips. And, of course, he loves affection and is always asking for cuddles and attention!

Maya is very different. She is a calm, independent and incredibly adaptable dog. She is an albino Husky with some specific care needs. She has sensitivities to several foods and treats, so I always have to pay close attention to what she can and cannot eat. As a Husky, she absolutely loves cold weather and is happiest when temperatures are low. However, hot weather affects her significantly, so during warmer days I pay extra attention to her body temperature, make sure she does not overheat and adapt her activity accordingly. She loves playing with a ball and, if it is time for a walk or play, she is always ready to run and have fun. But if we are staying at home, she is equally happy to spend the whole day sleeping and relaxing.

Both Jack and Maya are large dogs with lots of energy and specific daily needs. They need regular walks, playtime, attention and grooming. They also have a lot of fur, so brushing and taking care of their coats is part of our regular routine. Living with them has taught me how important it is to pay attention to each animal individually: their energy levels, personality, physical needs, routines and the different ways they communicate what they need.

I would love to bring this same care and attention to your pets. I understand that every animal has their own routine and preferences, and I will always follow your instructions carefully to help them feel safe, comfortable and happy while you are away.

I am happy to care for both dogs and cats, including large dogs and pets with specific routines or individual needs. Depending on your needs and my availability, I can offer house sitting, home visits and dog walking. During house sitting, I stay in your home so your pets can remain in their familiar environment and follow their usual routine. This can include feeding, refreshing their water, walks, playtime, companionship, grooming when needed, and cleaning litter boxes or other pet areas.

For home visits, I can spend around 30–60 minutes with your pet, depending on their needs. I can feed them, refresh their water, play with them, take care of basic cleaning and make sure they receive attention and companionship. Dog walks can also be adapted to your dog's usual routine, energy level and physical needs.

My goal is not simply to "watch" your pet, but to get to know them, understand what they need and give them the care, attention and affection they are used to receiving. 🐾
