Having a dog/cat in a city like Amsterdam and combining it with work and travel, is not always the easiest. I love the concept of Pawshake, as it can help you maintain your (sometimes very busy) lifestyle and still make sure that your pet gets enough love, attention, playtime and time outdoors. I have 'co-parented' a dog of my own for 3 years (adopted from Poland from abusive environment, with every behavioural and health problem possible - mainly separation anxiety, aggression towards other dogs, severe food allergies etc. - I have gained a lot of experience by working with behavoural trainers) and used help from Pawshake petsitters myself, so I know how it feels to trust someone with your beloved pet. Additionally, I have a many-years experience with being a petsitter for Pawshake, as in my student years it has been my main 'job' and with my current work felxibility, I have an opportunity to come back to it. A lot of my friends say that I have a gift for developing special connection with any animal. It has always brought me peace and joy to spend time with animals, especially in nature, but also having them at home and just keeping each other company.
I am a freelance interior architect, currently working part-time, sometimes from home, so I am quite flexible when it comes to dates and times - let's talk about what works the best for us both.
When it comes to walks during the day care or 24h stay - I would normally walk your pet 4 times / day usually 2 longer walks during the day (lunch and evening) and 2 shorter walks frist thing in the morning and last thing before sleeping. If your pets requires more frequent or longer walks (for example for health or behavioural reasons, we can definitely figure it out.
It is very important that you provide me with information such as:
- The most important: contact for your dierenkliniek (veterinary) in case of an emergency!
- Any food allergies or possible injuries
- Tell me about how your dogs react to other dogs or people, so that we can make sure that we are both comfortable and safe
- Your contact details and if possible (would be very useful), someone else's contact in case you are not available and it's an emergency kind of situation.
- Do you let your dog run without a leash in the 'dog park area'? I usually do not let dogs off the leash while in my care as it is a new situation for your pet and its reaction might be very unpredictable. I can only do that if the dog has had some time to get to know me better and we can be sure that he/she reacts to commands and will come back to me. I have had a horrible experience with a petsitter and my own dog, so I am very cautious when it comes to this matter.
I can asure you that your pet is safe and sound while in my care and we are both gonna enjoy our time together as I am going to make sure that he feels as comfortable and satisfied as possible!
I live in Amsterdam-Zuid just few minutes away from the amazing Vondelpark, so I know this area the best. However I would be also excited to explore a new area nearby your apartment. You can let me know about your favourite walk routes.
I'm looking forward to meeting you and spending some quality time with your furry companion!
Martyna took very good care of our pack (German Shepherd, Golden Retriever, and two cats) as well as our home. She was communicative and kept us updated while we were away on holiday. I know our pets miss her already! Highly recommend!
Martyna was a lovely and friendly cat-sitter.
She is punctual, straight-forward and reliable.
I can recommend her.
Cats seem to be happy when I came back home.
