Hi! I’m Başak, a Clinical Psychology master’s student at Erasmus University Rotterdam, and I’m a huge dog lover! 🐶

Having a dog of my own has actually been a childhood dream for as long as I can remember. Unfortunately, my mum is allergic to dogs, so we were never able to have one at home. I definitely didn’t let that stop me from spending time with dogs, though! I always loved visiting friends who had dogs, playing with them, taking them outside, and getting to know their little personalities. Since I started university, I’ve also regularly looked after my friends’ dogs when they were away on holiday or simply needed someone to take care of them.

I also have previous experience as a dog walker in Turkey through a pet-care platform. Before starting, I completed a two-day emergency training where I learned more about dog walking, responsible pet care and what to do in different emergency situations, including practical exercises. So while I mostly do this because I genuinely love being around animals, I also understand how important it is to be responsible and attentive when someone trusts you with their pet.

I’ve also grown up with birds and have had a pet bird at home since I was very young. I still find it so much fun to talk to them and watch their funny little personalities!

I’d be happy to take your dog for a walk, give them some company, play with them and make sure they feel safe and comfortable. I’m happy to follow their usual routine and adapt to their energy level and needs.

My university schedule changes from week to week, but I’m usually available some mornings and most afternoons on weekdays, and I’m generally quite flexible on weekends. I’d love to meet your furry friend and hopefully become someone they’re excited to see! 🐾
