Hey, my name is Rachel!

I love animals and I always say that I cannot decide if I am a dog or cat person, I just pet every animal that seems to like me!

I just moved to Leiden to study and I really miss being in contact with animals. Back where I lived many of my friends had pets, so I used to play with them whenever I could. Yes, I usually am the person in the corner petting the dog during a house party. :)

Although I did not have a pet

in my house because my grandmother

is allergic to animals, my uncle and aunt trusted me with their dog, Maverick (a shih tzu), twice a year for a month, so I have experience in walking dogs, giving them water and food, playing with them, petting and most the important part: keeping their parents updated (that is very important, trust me).

I like animals because they are very sensible and they are very smart,

especially

toward other people. After

getting to know an animal, if you pay close attention you can know if he/she is comfortable, stressed, relaxed. And mostly if you treat them with respect and care, they will give you love in return.
