Hey! My name is Himena and I love animals so much that I was recommended by friends and family to find jobs as a pet sitter! I grew up with hamsters and dogs, so I do understand the work and love that goes into caring for pets no matter how big or small. I have also helped out with taking care of cats for my extended family, and have had experience interacting with hedgehogs, ferrets, birds, guinea pigs, and rabbits. 

Being a student, I am unable to have pets at home and miss being able to pet and cuddle them! I often take every opportunity I get to dote on the furry babies of my friends and family, and I am told that I have an affinity with animals. I would love to be able to help out pet parents when they aren't around, and keep their pets doted on and well taken care of :) I am great at communicating and am happy to help you out in a way that works for both of us! 

Scheduling: Being a master's student, my schedule depends on when I have classes, but I am usually available late afternoons and evenings. I can do some mornings depending on the day, and my weekends are generally free. 

Home visits: I am happy to stay with pets during home visits for as long as needed. Overnight stays are workable as well. Additionally, I can help with watering plants and bringing in the mail. I am pretty careful with house rules and always make sure to keep the home secure when I am left responsible for it (eg. keeping all doors locked, checking with owners before answering the door to the mailman, etc.). I have had experience administering oral medication to dogs and also training them; basic grooming is something I can help with as well, so let me know how I can help!

Dog walks: The length of dog walks would depend on the activity level of the dog and what the owners' expectations are. In general I think 30 minutes to an hour would be the average length. I would likely walk a route around the neighbourhood, or if there is a specific place your dog likes I would bring them there too! I do know how to train dogs to walk well, so if this is something you are keen on having do let me know!
