🐱 A Little About Me

Hi! I’m a Portuguese cat lover who has been living in Leeuwarden for the past two years.

My love for cats started when I was 15, when I found my first cat sitting outside. She stayed with me for 16 wonderful years. Since then, it seems cats have a habit of finding me! I’ve also rescued two little girls, who are now living back in Portugal.

For the past two years, I’ve been taking care of friends’ cats in Leeuwarden. Some have stayed with me, while others I visit at their own homes. I usually care for one cat or one household at a time, so I can give them plenty of attention and make sure they feel comfortable.

🏡 My Home

I live in a ground-floor flat in the city centre, with an outdoor space that has acesa to a gated space. Although it’s a flat, I think it’s a nice size for cats to move around, play and explore freely.

There are also large windows, which cats seem to love, especially when they find a sunny spot to nap in and watch the world go by. ☀️

The outdoor space is only accessible through a door that is normally kept closed. I don’t allow cats to go outside unless their owner has specifically told me that it’s okay, and if so I make sure I am with them.

⏰ My Schedule

I work in the marketing department of a greywater recycling company and have the flexibility to work from home or from the office. This makes it easier for me to organise my schedule around the needs of the cat staying with me.

When working from home, I’m able to keep them company throughout the day. If I need to work from the office, my usual hours are 9:00–12:30 and 13:00–17:00, and I can come home during my lunch break to check on them if needed, since is only 2min by bike.

If I simply need to leave the house for something, I normally won’t be away for more than around two hours.

I also have a camera at home, so whenever I leave, I can check in on your cat and make sure everything is okay. 👀🐾

❤️ Their Routine Comes First

Every cat is different, so I always follow the owner’s instructions carefully from feeding times and favourite toys to medication, hiding places, sleeping habits or anything else that helps them feel at home.

Before the stay, I’ll make sure I understand their routine and any specific care instructions. I want their time with me to be as comfortable and stress-free as possible.

😸 All Personalities Welcome

Whether your cat is cuddly, playful, shy, independent or a little bit chaotic, I’ll respect their personality and give them the attention and space they need.

My goal is simple: while you’re away, your cat should feel safe, comfortable and loved.

And yes… you can expect cute photos and videos of your little one enjoying their stay, because I’ll probably be just as excited to show you what they’ve been up to. 📸🐾
