Hi! I’m Laura, I live in Haarlem Oost and work remotely. I’m caring, responsible and active, and I genuinely love having dogs around me. I'm open to sit in Haarlem but also in neighbouring areas like Heemstede, Ardenhout, Overveen, Bloemendaal, Santpoort-Zuid, etc.

I grew up with my schnauzer Saku, who was with us for 15 years. I was mainly the one playing with her, cuddling her and giving her lots of attention, so I know how much a dog can become part of the family. I still miss having that companionship, and pet sitting feels like a lovely way to have dogs around again while also helping someone else.

I love walking with dogs, always on the leash, playing with them, cuddling them and generally pampering them a little. I also tend to talk to them like they are babies, which I think happens automatically once they are cute enough!

My dog walks are at least 30 minutes, and I adapt the number and length of walks to your dog’s normal routine, age and energy level. I’ll always ask where your dog normally likes to walk and keep their familiar routes in the routine. If you’re open to something new, I’m also happy to suggest some of my favorite walking spots around Haarlem. Reinaldapark and the Esplanade in Haarkem Oost are two places I really like, and there are plenty of other nice dog-friendly areas around the city.

I offer daytime and overnight house sitting. Since I work remotely, I can bring my laptop and work from your home, so your dog can have plenty of company throughout the day. I normally go to the gym and may be out for around 1.5 hours, but I’ll always discuss this with you beforehand and adapt to your pet’s needs. During my visit/stay I can feed your pet, refresh water, play with them, give them attention, take them out and give treats if that is part of their routine. I’m also happy to water plants, bring in the mail, throw garbage, etc.

I’m most comfortable with small and medium-sized dogs that are friendly, cuddly or playful. I’m not the right sitter for dogs with serious behavioural issues.

I usually send photos, videos and little updates while you’re away, so you know what we have been up to. Before the first booking, I’d like to meet you and your dog/cat, hear about their routine and little habits, and make sure we’re all comfortable with each other.

Most importantly, I want to understand your pet’s normal routine and personality. You know them best, so tell me what makes them happy and comfortable and I’ll take it from there.
