I truly believe animals are little angels in our lives. They may not speak our language, but they are always trying to understand us, communicate with us, and be part of our everyday lives. That’s one of the reasons caring for dogs feels like more than just a responsibility to me. Spending time with them genuinely makes me happy. Besides caring for my own dachshund, I have experience looking after a Shiba Inu for one week, including overnight stays, daily walks, feeding, playtime, and general day-to-day care. I currently work from home, so my schedule is quite flexible and I can adapt the care routine to your dog’s usual habits. During daycare or overnight stays, I am at home most of the time, so dogs in my care are rarely left alone. If I do need to go out, I will always discuss this with the owner beforehand and make sure it fits the dog’s usual routine and comfort level. I understand that every dog has a different personality, energy level, and comfort zone. Before looking after your dog, I’d therefore love to learn about their routine, preferences, behaviour, feeding schedule, sleeping habits, and any special needs so that they can feel as comfortable and safe as possible. For daycare and overnight stays, I try to keep their normal routine as closely as possible, including their usual meal times, walks, rest, and bedtime. I usually walk dogs twice a day, in the morning and in the evening, with each walk lasting around 40–80 minutes depending on the dog’s age, energy level, and usual routine. In the morning, I usually walk around the green spaces and grassy areas near my home. In the evening, I often go to Noorderplantsoen, where there is more space for a relaxed and enjoyable walk. For home visits, I can take care of feeding, fresh water, walks, playtime, and companionship according to your dog’s normal routine. While your dog is with me, I’ll also send regular photo updates and little check-ins, so you don’t have to spend the day wondering what your tiny family member is plotting. 🐶📸
