I’m Ashley and I want to care for your pet. 

I bring a lifetime of experience to petsitting, as I grew up with dogs (and the occasional cat) as part of the family. I lost my own beloved canine roommate, Finn, a couple of years ago and have since had a dog-sized hole in my life, so I thought that petsitting would be a great way to share the love until I feel like the time is right to bring a new friend home. 

After six years living in Amsterdam, I’m currently located in Hoofddorp with my partner and his daughter. As much as I enjoy the easy connection to nature outside of the city, I often miss the energy and ever-changing surroundings. Petsitting / housesitting brings me the new experiences and animal interaction that I crave. Plus, with in-home care, your pet has the opportunity to bond with me in their own environment, limiting their anxiety in your absence. I work part-time remotely so your dog will have regular company.

I believe that a tired pet is a happy pet; lots of walking and playing as part of my time with them is key. For dogs in particular, I know that it is an important factor in helping them to be confident, calm, and to trust me as a part of their pack. I provide a minimum of two big walks per day and shorter walks for bathroom breaks as necessary.  

I have experience with pets of all ages, from puppies that need consistency and training to senior animals that may need medication or a slower pace. I also have experience with light farm animal care (feed for chickens and ducks, pigs and goats, hay for horses).

Currently I'm available for in-home (housesitting) stays only. I will happily travel longer distances within the Netherlands for extended stays (a week or more). 

Rates: 50 euros / night for in-home stays, + 20 euros / half day / longer hours, and + 5 euros per additional pet.
