Hi! I’m Bernadette, a 32-year-old Emergency Department nurse and a true animal lover. I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember and grew up surrounded by pets. Unfortunately, I don’t have any pets of my own at the moment, which is exactly why I would love to care for yours.

I work as an Emergency Department nurse in a hospital, which means I work rotating shifts. On my days off, I have plenty of time for long walks, playtime, cuddles, and giving your pet my full attention. On workdays, I always make sure your pet is well cared for before and after my shift. Because some of my shifts are long, I’m only able to care for dogs that are comfortable being left alone for up to approximately nine hours. I believe it’s important to be honest about this so that every pet receives the care that’s right for them.

At the moment, I’m between homes, so I’m especially interested in house sitting in Amsterdam. I see it as the perfect combination: your pet gets to stay happy and relaxed in its familiar environment, while I get to spend time with wonderful animals. I’ll treat both your home and your pet with the same care and respect as if they were my own.

Outside of work, I love being outdoors. I enjoy walking, running, cycling, and staying active. If your dog loves exercise, I’d be happy to take them on long walks or even a run. If your pet prefers a quieter pace, I’m just as happy to relax together on the sofa and give them plenty of affection and companionship.

I’ve had animals around me my entire life and have regularly looked after the pets of family and friends. I naturally adapt to each animal’s personality. Shy pets get the time and patience they need to feel comfortable, while energetic dogs can expect lots of fun and adventure.

Working in the Emergency Department has taught me to stay calm and think clearly in unexpected situations. I’m comfortable administering oral medication and, if needed, injections, as long as they are given according to the owner’s or veterinarian’s instructions. If an emergency ever arises, I’ll remain calm, contact you immediately, and, if necessary, take your pet to the veterinarian. My priority is always your pet’s health, safety, and well-being.

My boyfriend is also a huge animal lover and, if you’d like, is happy to join me on walks. He enjoys spending time with animals just as much as I do.

During your time away, I’ll happily send regular photos and updates so you can relax knowing your pet is happy, safe, and well cared for.
