About Claudia
Hi! I’m Claudia, a third culture kid that has just moved to Amsterdam. While I am originally from Hong Kong, I’ve lived all around the world including China, Australia, the UK, and now Holland so I am very open minded, culturally intelligent, and empathic. I speak 3 languages fluently, including English, Cantonese Chinese, and Mandarin Chinese, and I am now trying to learn Dutch. I have a very active lifestyle while here in Europe which is why I cannot have my own dog. For work, I am a consultant and work remotely often so I am available both weekdays and weekends.
I love dogs and sadly had to leave Benji, my 4 year old Pembroke Welsh Corgi, behind in Sydney, Australia for the time being. Benji is my best friend and I used to take him with me everywhere whether it was walks in the park, swimming at the dog beach, or even to the supermarket. I also love to just sit and play with or talk to him, sing to him, and give lots of ear scratches. While I am here in Amsterdam, I’ve seen many dogs walking around and I would love to hang out with any and all of them as I miss my dog very much!
Currently I live with my partner in the Centrum area of Amsterdam. As we are renting a no-pets apartment, my services primarily revolve around home visits and house sitting. For overnight house sitting, I’m happy to travel beyond Amsterdam to other Dutch cities. I am able to give food and medication (oral / spot treatments only, no needles) and even accompany pets on visits to the vet. I also have experience with anxious dogs and taking care of any cats in the home too.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions. I’m very flexible with my time and services so I’m happy to discuss any special arrangements you or your dog / cat may require. I used to house/pet/baby sit for a family in Sydney so I’m also good with kids and happy to practice conversing in the languages I can speak if you’d like.
As I may be spending time in your home, I wanted to share also that I am deeply respectful of other people’s space and privacy. I am neat and tidy - culturally I was even raised not to wear shoes in the house, and I always clean up after myself.
