Hi! I’m Michaela, a 29-year-old Australian who has recently moved from Sydney to Amsterdam 🇦🇺🐾 I’m a huge animal lover and my family has an 8-year-old miniature schnauzer, Nelson, who is essentially my furry baby brother and very much part of the family. One of the things I’m missing most since moving overseas is having him around, so Pawshake felt like the perfect way to get my much-needed dog fix while helping care for someone else’s much-loved pet. Having Nelson in the family has given me plenty of experience with the day-to-day realities of looking after a dog, from walks and playtime to feeding, maintaining routines and, of course, providing lots of attention and cuddles. I know how important it is to feel completely comfortable with the person you’re trusting with your pet, and I’ll always treat them as if they were part of my own family. I’m also more than happy to send plenty of photo updates while you’re away! I’m available for dog walking, home visits and house sitting, and I’m also very happy to care for cats. My dog walks are typically around 30–60 minutes, depending on your dog’s usual routine, age and energy level. Home visits are generally around 30 minutes and can include feeding, fresh water, playtime, cuddles and any other basic care your pet needs. For house sitting, I’ll stay overnight in your home and keep your pet’s routine as close to normal as possible, including feeding, walks, playtime and plenty of company. I’m happy to work around your pet’s individual needs and will always discuss how long they’re comfortable being left alone beforehand. As a general guide, I wouldn’t leave a pet alone for longer than around 4–5 hours during a house sit. My schedule is currently very flexible while I settle into life in Amsterdam, including weekdays and weekends. I’d love to meet you and your pet beforehand to make sure we’re a great fit! 🐶🐱
