Hi, I’m Rafa, 33-year-old engineering manager living in Amsterdam Oost (Dapperbuurt), originally from Brazil, with over six years of hands-on experience caring for dogs.
I started pet sitting during the pandemic, walking and hosting dogs at my home (small, medium, and large) one at a time, so every pup gets my full attention rather than sharing it with a pack. That experience eventually led me to get a dog of my own: Oda, a black German Shepherd, now six years old, whom I raised from a puppy right here in the Netherlands.
A few years in, life brought some changes, more travel for work and a move to a smaller city apartment, and I made the tough but loving decision to rehome Oda with my family on their small farm in Brazil, where she now has all the space a big dog could ask for. I visit her every winter over Christmas, and not a day goes by that I don’t miss having her by my side. That’s actually a big part of why I’m getting back into pet sitting: I love dogs (and cats, I also have two back home in Brazil), and I want to keep sharing my home and experience with animals who need care, walks, or a cozy place to stay.
Whether your pup needs a daily walk, a few hours of company, or a full home-away-from-home stay, I treat every dog like they’re my own. I understand the big and small moments of a dog’s life, and I’ll make sure yours feels safe, loved, and well exercised while you’re away.
