Hi! I’m Annika, an Australian living in Amsterdam and a lifelong dog lover. Caring for animals is something I genuinely love, and I have several years of hands-on experience with dogs of all different sizes, personalities and behavioural needs.

Through a rescue organisation in Australia, I have fostered and rehabilitated three dogs from the pound, caring for and training them until they were ready to move into their forever homes. I also work with rescue organisations in Australia and Morocco to help rehome dogs and support them through the process of finding safe, suitable homes. This has given me experience with dogs from a wide range of backgrounds, including those who are nervous, shy, energetic, unsettled or still learning to trust people.

I’m very comfortable adapting to each dog’s individual personality and routine. Some dogs love long walks and lots of stimulation, while others are happiest with a slower pace, plenty of reassurance and a predictable routine.

For dog walks, I generally offer walks of around 30–60 minutes depending on your dog’s age, energy level and usual routine, and I’m happy to arrange longer walks where needed. I love exploring Amsterdam on foot and can take dogs through local neighbourhoods, along canals, through quieter residential streets and to nearby parks and green spaces where appropriate. I’m also very conscious of busy roads, bikes, other dogs and off-leash areas, and will always follow whatever walking and socialisation rules you use at home.

For doggy daycare, I like to make the day feel as close to your dog’s normal routine as possible. A typical day might include a morning walk, feeding if required, some play and enrichment, plenty of downtime and rest, another walk or toilet break later in the day, and lots of company and attention in between. For more energetic dogs, I’m happy to include longer walks and more active play, while older, anxious or lower-energy dogs can have a much calmer day.

I also offer home visits and pet sitting. Home visits can include feeding, fresh water, playtime, toilet breaks, medication if required and proper company rather than simply popping in and out. For pet sitting, I’ll follow your pet’s usual schedule as closely as possible so they feel safe and settled while you’re away.

I’m comfortable caring for dogs of different ages, sizes and behavioural needs, and I’m also happy to care for cats and other household pets with clear instructions. If your pet has anxiety, behavioural quirks, particular training routines or any special needs, please tell me. I’m always happy to adapt to what makes them feel most comfortable.

I know how much trust it takes to leave your pet with someone new, so I’ll treat them with the same care and attention I would give my own. I’m reliable, patient and attentive, and I’m very happy to send regular photos and updates throughout the day so you know they’re happy, safe and well cared for.
