Hi! I’m Sandra, a French person who’s been living in Amsterdam West for seven years. I’ve always had cats in my life, and caring for them feels completely natural to me 😺. Since I travel regularly for work and can’t adopt a pet right now, cat sitting is the perfect way for me to enjoy feline company while helping people in my neighbourhood.

I live in a bright, spacious 55m² apartment in Amsterdam West, with plenty of room for a cat to relax, play or nap wherever they please. There’s no balcony, so it’s a fully safe indoor space 🏡.

Why cat sitting?

I genuinely love spending time with cats, their personalities, routines and little quirks. Over the years, I’ve also done foster cat sitting through an animal association in Greece. I sometimes hosted two kittens at once, usually for two to three months before they were adopted. These were stray cats, not always well socialised at first, but they all learned quickly, used their litter perfectly and just needed time, patience and a calm environment. Watching them grow confident and turn into affectionate, cuddly cats was incredibly rewarding 😻.

I eventually stopped fostering because the long stays didn’t match my work travels anymore, but it was a beautiful experience that taught me how to handle shy, nervous or high-energy cats with gentleness and consistency.
