Hi, I’m Erica! 🐾

I’m a freelance designer working from home, which gives me the flexibility to dedicate my mornings and early afternoons to pet sitting. Growing up in the countryside with an English Setter, a Golden Labrador, barn cats, and rabbits, I have always had animals in my life. I bring a very calm, grounded energy, which works incredibly well with shy or anxious pets. I always let nervous animals approach me at their own pace, using a quiet environment and predictable routines to help them feel safe.

I have two cats of my own, so I know how important daily playtime, routine, and enrichment are for house pets. I already regularly look after pets for close friends, and I’m hoping to use Pawshake to fill some of my quieter weekdays.

How I can help:

• Drop-in visits: Refresh food and water, scoop the litter, and hang out for some play and cuddles. For cats, I love to throw treats so they can "hunt" them! If your pet requires basic oral or topical medication mixed into their food, I am happy to handle that.
• Dog walking (30 minutes+): I have a daily walking loop through Westerpark, and I would happily include your dog(s)! I can also cycle with your dog if they are trained for it. To ensure total safety on walks, I keep dogs securely leashed, stay highly alert to triggers (like other dogs or traffic), and never let a dog off-leash unless we are in a fenced, designated secure area.
• House sitting & holiday care: If you're traveling, I can do overnight stays or extended daytime care at your place, and I'm happy to help water plants or keep things tidy while you're away. I am happy to set up with my laptop and hang out if they need extra company. Because I work remotely, pets will rarely be left alone—typically for no more than 2 to 3 hours at a time if I need to step out for groceries.

I’m reliable, flexible, and always happy to send you tons of photo and video updates of your babies so you know they're doing well while you are away. In case of emergency, I ask for your vet details beforehand and am fully prepared to take your pet to the nearest emergency clinic if the need arises.
