Hi! I’m Jelena, an animal lover based in Amsterdam. Originally from Montenegro, I’ve been living here for about 7 years.

I work with a flexible schedule and partly from home, which allows me to spend a lot of time with the pets I care for and supervise them throughout the day. Pet care fits very naturally into my daily routine, and during boarding or daycare pets are never left alone for longer than Pawshake’s guidelines.

I have several years of hands-on experience with dogs. I regularly cared for my friend’s dog, Alfi, over a long period of time and truly miss having a dog around since she moved away. My parents also have a dog in Montenegro, whom I take care of when visiting, and he sometimes comes to stay with me in Amsterdam. In addition, my roommate and I have taken care of other people’s pets through pet-sitting apps in the past and always had very positive experiences and ratings.

I live in a spacious apartment with plenty of room for pets to relax and play. I share the home with one animal-friendly roommate and there are no resident pets. Guest pets are welcome to sleep in the living room or bedroom, depending on their usual routine and your preference. While I don’t have a private backyard, I live in a pet-friendly neighbourhood with plenty of nice areas nearby for walks.

I offer dog boarding, daycare and walks. Dogs usually get 3–4 walks per day, typically 30–60 minutes depending on their needs and energy level. I’m happy to follow your pet’s routine closely, including feeding schedules, playtime and rest. I can also administer basic oral medication if clearly explained. While I don’t offer professional training or grooming, I always handle pets calmly, patiently and with lots of care.

I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals - whether that means long walks, playtime, cuddles or simply keeping them company. I treat every pet as if they were my own and aim to create a calm, safe and loving environment while you’re away. I’d love to meet you and your furry friend!

Fun fact: I always had a dog while growing up and I wanted to become a vet for the longest time. Life took me to psychotherapy instead, but needless to say, I always take the utmost care of our furry friends. :)
