Hi! We are Dara & Úna, a couple originally from Ireland, who have called Amsterdam home for 3 years.

We both grew up with dogs in our homes, and so know how much happiness and love they bring to their families. We also know just how important it is as owners to know that your dog is in the best hands when you're not around - and so we always treat any of our paw sits as we would our own dog: with love and care.

We have a spacious ground floor apartment with a fully enclosed garden in Amsterdam West, a 5 minute walk from both Rembrandt Park and Erasmus Park, meaning dog-friendly outdoor areas are just around the corner.

Our typical day dog-sitting:

We both have jobs that allow us to work from home during the week, and so we ensure that when we're dog sitting, we're fully available and present with your dog.

We start the day with a brisk-paced walk around the block, including into the local park before breakfast back at home. We set up at our kitchen table for work, filling up water and setting out your dog's favourite toys. On good weather days, we open the back doors out into the garden, meaning your dog can move freely around the apartment, both inside and out, as they please.

At lunch time we get back out for another dog walk, stopping off at our favourite coffee spot before returning home.

Once the working day is done, we log off and love to spend our free time outdoors with your dog: reading in the park, getting out for a run, or just wandering around the neighbourhood for an ice-cream.

In the evening we enjoy cosying up on the couch for some rest and some rubs.

Our experience:

Dara grew up with a Golden Retriever mix and a Jack Russell Terrier, both who brought much love and many happy memories, but also two completely different personality types! As a fitness coach, Dara is well able to handle dogs that need an extra stretch of their legs to burn some energy, and in fact, he enjoys minding dogs who love to be active!

Úna grew up with a terrier mix named Belle, a true sweetheart whose gentle nature has given Úna experience in caring for dogs with more timid personalities, who might need some extra reassurance and tlc, especially when in a new environment.

Together we make a pretty great team at caring for dogs of all shapes, sizes and personalities!

As we are both experienced dog people, we are confident and comfortable in situations where your dog may need extra care, such as taking medicine. In the case of an emergency, we take immediate action in contacting you and getting your dog as quickly to the vet (or otherwise as instructed by you) as possible. In cases where we can't reach you, we draw on our experience and initiative to make sure your dog is taken care of.

Our home:

We have a spacious ground floor apartment with a fully enclosed garden. When working from home during the summer, we leave the back doors open for fresh air, coolness, and extra outdoor space for your dog. We have no problem with dogs making themselves at home on the couch, rug, or any spot they find comfortable.
