Hi! We’re Alexa and Kyle, a South African couple living in Almere. We’ve been in the Netherlands for three years and, while we’d love to have dogs of our own, it isn’t quite possible for us yet. Pet sitting gives us the next best thing: the chance to have a furry companion around and give your dog plenty of love, attention and company while you’re away. We don’t have professional pet-care experience, but we both grew up surrounded by dogs and know how much they become part of the family. Kyle grew up with Boxers, Spaniels and a Scottie, while Alexa grew up with many German Shepherds and had a much-loved Jack Russell. We both know what it means to have a dog that holds a very special place in your heart, and we’ll treat yours with the same care and affection. We make a good team: Kyle is the energetic one who loves getting outside, throwing a ball, playing and running around, while Alexa is happiest making sure your dog feels cared for, comfortable and settled (with plenty of cuddles if they’re a cuddler!). We live in a studio apartment in Almere and work from home whenever we’re pet sitting, so your dog will have lots of company throughout the day. We don’t have a private garden or direct outdoor access, but we’ll take your dog out for 2-3 good walks every day. Our walks go around our neighbourhood for a short walk, to the Luminaire park (10 mins walk each way + duration in the park), the Hannie Schaftpad park (15 mins walk each way + duration in the park) or the Beatrixpark (20 mins walk each way + duration in park) dependent on the time we have available and the energy of your dog. Because of our space, we’re best suited to smaller dogs who are comfortable living indoors between walks. We’re happy to pet sit for anything from a night to a longer stay. For stays longer than three days, we ask for a one-night trial stay beforehand so that everyone, especially your dog!, can feel comfortable before a longer visit. One important note: unfortunately, we cannot care for cats, as Alexa is allergic. Feel free to reach out and have a chat with us.
