Top cities for house sitting in The Netherlands

Are you going away but have a pet that prefers to stay in their own environment? Or perhaps you have a range of different animals and it’s not practical for you to organise for them to stay in different places? Then you might want to consider finding a Pawshake house sitter to come and stay at your Waalre home while you are away.

House sitting is a convenient and affordable option when you have multiple pets and also want your house to be securely looked after while you are away. Many of our pet sitters have very reasonable house sitting rates because they enjoy staying and exploring different local neighbourhoods like Waalre.

At Pawshake, we understand that trusting your home to a stranger can be a little daunting. So we’ve done all the hard work to ensure that your Pawshake house sitter is trustworthy and reliable. All our pet sitter profiles are checked individually by our dedicated trust and safety team and some house sitters also have their own police checks which they can share with you.

The best thing about engaging a Pawshake verified house sitter is that you can relax knowing that on top of being covered by The Pawshake Guarantee which includes veterinary coverage, so your pets are being cared for in a familiar environment and your Waalre home is also being looked after as well.

In addition to looking after your pets, most of our house sitters will happily help you by collecting your mail, taking out the bins, and watering your plants. Just make sure you discuss all your requirements with your chosen house sitter prior to booking.

Animals have always been a big part of my life, and caring for them comes naturally to me. I’ve grown up with dogs and cats, and I understand how important it is for owners to feel that their pets are safe, comfortable, and understood. My walks usually last 30–60 minutes, depending on your dog’s needs.I love walking in quiet, green areas where dogs can explore safely and stay relaxed. With puppies, I focus on short, positive walks with plenty of breaks and gentle guidance. With senior dogs, I adjust the pace, avoid long distances, and make sure they stay comfortable at all times.During home visits, I:Refresh food and waterClean litter boxes / take dogs out for toilet breaksSpend quality time playing, cuddling, or simply keeping them companyCheck the pet’s mood and behavior to ensure everything is normalI always treat pets and homes with respect, as if they were my own.In case of an emergency, I will immediately contact you, follow your preferred vet instructions, and act quickly to keep your pet safe.I send regular updates with photos or videos so you always know how your pet is doing. Clear communication is important to me, and I’m always happy to adapt to your preferences.

Mijn naam is Julian.

Hey there! I’m a dedicated dog lover and an experienced pet sitter with 3+ years of hands-on care. I primarily care for dogs of all sizes and energy levels, from small companion breeds to larger, high-energy dogs, and I focus on building trust so each dog feels safe, relaxed, and well cared for while you’re away.
I’m very routine-oriented because dogs thrive on consistency. I follow your usual schedule closely, including:

Feeding routines (exact portions, timing, fresh water, and any dietary rules)
Walk schedules and exercise needs (short sniff walks, longer structured walks, or play-based exercise)
Play and enrichment (fetch, tug, puzzle toys, basic training games, depending on what your dog enjoys)
Home routines (sleeping spot, house rules like furniture access, crate use if applicable)

I’m comfortable adapting to different personalities. For social, playful dogs, I provide plenty of interaction and structured play. For shy, anxious, or easily overstimulated dogs, I take a calm, patient approach moving at their pace, using positive reinforcement, and giving them space when needed. I also have experience with strong pullers and energetic walkers, and I keep walks safe and controlled.
Safety is a priority for me during every visit and walk. I:

Confirm harness fit before going out and avoid off-leash areas unless you explicitly request it
Watch closely for triggers (other dogs/cats, bikes, loud areas) and choose calmer routes when helpful
Keep doors and gates secured and follow your entry/exit routine to prevent escapes
Share updates with you (photos/messages) so you feel confident your dog is doing well

If you’re looking for a sitter who combines warmth with reliable structure, and who will treat your dog with genuine care and attention, I’d be happy to help.

I’ve loved and cared for animals since I was a kid. I recently moved to the Netherlands and, since I travel a lot and live between countries, I can't have my own pet right now. That’s why pet sitting is the perfect way for me to share my love for animals! I live in Geldrop and work in Tempel, Eindhoven. My work schedule changes every week on a rotating basis, which actually gives me a lot of flexible free time during the week to hang out, play, and take your dogs for long walks.I’m highly experienced with both cats and dogs—I always look after my friends' pets when they travel. I’m also on TrustedHousesitters with great reviews, so you can be sure your home and your best friend are in safe hands.Whether your pet needs feeding, a long walk, or just some good company while you're away, I'm here to help! I can't wait to meet your furry friend.

Animal lover!
Hi! My name is Helen Naomi, and animals have always been a big part of my life. I grew up caring for horses, cats, goats, chickens, rabbits, and dogs of most breeds. My mom is almost finished studying to become a veterinarian, so caring for animals truly runs in the family.
I often take care of my sister’s cats when she travels, and back home my family used to host dogs in our home for up to two weeks at a time, I volunteered at a dog shelter and at a sea aquarium. Although I have a mild allergy to cats, it has never stopped me from loving and caring for them.
I am currently a student, so I have a flexible schedule. In my free time, I enjoy reading, sports, and spending time with my family. I have wanted to become a pet sitter for a long time because I cannot have pets of my own right now (student life), and I would love to give other pets the care, attention, and affection they deserve :)

I’ve loved animals since I was a child and grew up surrounded by them—dogs, cats, and years of horseback riding. Caring for animals has always been second nature to me, and I treat them as if they were my own.
Although I don’t have a pet at the moment due to space and responsibility, I truly miss being around them. That’s why I would love to take care of yours! Whether it’s pet sitting or dog walking, I’m happy to help.
I have experience from my time in Portugal, where I regularly did pet sitting and dog walking. I understand the importance of trust, patience, and attention when caring for someone’s beloved pet. Whether your furry friend needs playtime, cuddles, or just a relaxing walk, I’ll make sure they feel safe and happy.
I’d love to meet your pet and help however I can!

Hi! I’m Adam, a 20-year-old law student from Ireland. Growing up, my home was always filled with pets, including dogs, cats, and even chickens. Most of them were rescues, and we regularly fostered animals while they waited for their forever homes. I’ve always been passionate about animals, especially smaller dog breeds, but I’ve also fostered and later adopted a female Doberman named Lexi, so I have experience with larger breeds too.

Over the years, I’ve cared for many different dogs: a Jack Russell named Clarabelle, several Chihuahuas, three Yorkshire Terriers, and a little rescue mutt called Bran. Archie, one of my Chihuahuas, suffers from hydrocephalus, and Clarabelle had arthritis and later developed cancer, so I understand the extra love and care dogs with health issues need.

Becoming a pet sitter and walker feels like the perfect fit. It’s a way to combine my passion for dogs with helping other pet owners feel at ease when they’re away.

As a pet owner myself, I know how important it is to feel confident that your furry friend is safe, happy, and well looked after. I treat every pet like they are part of my own family, making sure they receive the love, attention, and routine they are used to. I have experience with a variety of breeds and temperaments, including senior dogs and those with special needs. I’ve also delivered and raised puppies, as my Chihuahua Gloria had two litters in recent years.

Along with taking the best possible care of your pet, my goal is to ensure you feel completely at ease leaving them with me. I’m happy to follow any instructions you provide regarding food, medication, or daily routines.

Thank you for reading. I can’t wait to meet your furry friend!

Hello!
I'm Hugo and I'm from Portugal. I moved to the Netherlands over 2 years ago and it's been an amazing experience so far.
However I do miss the portuguese weather and my pets. I have 2 dogs and 3 cats back home, so I'm used to always have 4 pawed company everywhere I go.
Having the opportunity to pet sit here is just the icing in the cake for me.
I have experience with quite a few animals, back in Portugal, just before moving to the Netherlands I was working as a Zookeeper for one of the biggest zoo's in Portugal.
Some of the animals I was caring for were parrots, eagles, owls, ravens, lemurs, snakes, lizards, turtles and a lot more. I was very lucky to be surrounded by all those species of animals, it was a very fulfilling work for me and I learned a lot during my time there.
I'm open to pet sit for all kinds of animals as well, so if you liked my profile please don't hesitate to contact me and do let know if you have any additional questions.
Hope to hear from you soon!
