Top cities for house sitting in The Netherlands

Are you going away but have a pet that prefers to stay in their own environment? Or perhaps you have a range of different animals and it’s not practical for you to organise for them to stay in different places? Then you might want to consider finding a Pawshake house sitter to come and stay at your Veghel home while you are away.

House sitting is a convenient and affordable option when you have multiple pets and also want your house to be securely looked after while you are away. Many of our pet sitters have very reasonable house sitting rates because they enjoy staying and exploring different local neighbourhoods like Veghel.

At Pawshake, we understand that trusting your home to a stranger can be a little daunting. So we’ve done all the hard work to ensure that your Pawshake house sitter is trustworthy and reliable. All our pet sitter profiles are checked individually by our dedicated trust and safety team and some house sitters also have their own police checks which they can share with you.

The best thing about engaging a Pawshake verified house sitter is that you can relax knowing that on top of being covered by The Pawshake Guarantee which includes veterinary coverage, so your pets are being cared for in a familiar environment and your Veghel home is also being looked after as well.

In addition to looking after your pets, most of our house sitters will happily help you by collecting your mail, taking out the bins, and watering your plants. Just make sure you discuss all your requirements with your chosen house sitter prior to booking.

I have always loved animals and grew up with a Husky who was truly my best friend. Because of that, caring for animals has always felt very natural to me, and I know how special the bond between a pet and their owner can be.
I understand how important it is for pets to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for, especially when their owners are away. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals, whether that means playing with them, going for walks, giving them attention, or simply keeping them company.
I also have experience caring for a cat who stayed with me for two months. During that time, I took care of his feeding, daily routine, playtime, and made sure he felt comfortable and relaxed in my home.
I would be very happy to care for your pet with patience, attention, and warmth, and to make sure they feel safe and loved while you are away

Hi! first some things about myself, My name is Jens Kroon and I am 24 years old. I originally come from Maastricht but I live and study in EIndhoven now for 5,5/6 years. I play football 3 times a week and I go for runs 2 times a week. I love to be outside and/or do outside sports. I also love to go hiking in the mountains and/or forests.
I am a big animal lover who enjoys spending time with pets and making sure they feel comfortable and cared for while their owners are away. I understand that pets are part of the family and not just animals, so I always treat them if they were my own pet(family).
I'm responsible, calm and patient with animals. I always had animals while I was a kid, we had dogs, cats, rabbits, chickens, goats and hamsters. I loved to play with them and provide them with as much love as possible. Wheter it's going for walks, playing, feeding or just keeping them company, I make sure every pet gets the attention they need. I'm happy to follow your pets routine so they feel safe and relaxed.
Communication is important to me, so I can send updates, photos, or messages while you're away.
I am looking forward to meeting you and your pet(s)!

Hoi!

In overleg is in elk geval veel mogelijk.

Hoi!

Mijn naam is Julian.

Hi! I’m Zorana, and animals have always been a big part of my life. Right now, I share my home with my cat Mr. Brownie, he’s a total cuddlebug with a soft belly and a warm personality. When he first came to live with me, he was a bit reserved, but with time (and lots of attention and love), he completely opened up. Now he trusts me fully and is always up for belly cuddles. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals, especially cats. I love getting to know their individual quirks, playing with them, and making sure they feel safe and comfortable. Friends have joked that I’m a bit of a cat whisperer because even shy or skittish cats tend to warm up to me quickly.I welcome all pets into my care, vaccinated or not, and I always aim to create a calm and loving environment where they can feel at home.

Hey there! I’m a dedicated dog lover and an experienced pet sitter with 3+ years of hands-on care. I primarily care for dogs of all sizes and energy levels, from small companion breeds to larger, high-energy dogs, and I focus on building trust so each dog feels safe, relaxed, and well cared for while you’re away.
I’m very routine-oriented because dogs thrive on consistency. I follow your usual schedule closely, including:

Feeding routines (exact portions, timing, fresh water, and any dietary rules)
Walk schedules and exercise needs (short sniff walks, longer structured walks, or play-based exercise)
Play and enrichment (fetch, tug, puzzle toys, basic training games, depending on what your dog enjoys)
Home routines (sleeping spot, house rules like furniture access, crate use if applicable)

I’m comfortable adapting to different personalities. For social, playful dogs, I provide plenty of interaction and structured play. For shy, anxious, or easily overstimulated dogs, I take a calm, patient approach moving at their pace, using positive reinforcement, and giving them space when needed. I also have experience with strong pullers and energetic walkers, and I keep walks safe and controlled.
Safety is a priority for me during every visit and walk. I:

Confirm harness fit before going out and avoid off-leash areas unless you explicitly request it
Watch closely for triggers (other dogs/cats, bikes, loud areas) and choose calmer routes when helpful
Keep doors and gates secured and follow your entry/exit routine to prevent escapes
Share updates with you (photos/messages) so you feel confident your dog is doing well

If you’re looking for a sitter who combines warmth with reliable structure, and who will treat your dog with genuine care and attention, I’d be happy to help.

Animal lover!
Hi! My name is Helen Naomi, and animals have always been a big part of my life. I grew up caring for horses, cats, goats, chickens, rabbits, and dogs of most breeds. My mom is almost finished studying to become a veterinarian, so caring for animals truly runs in the family.
I often take care of my sister’s cats when she travels, and back home my family used to host dogs in our home for up to two weeks at a time, I volunteered at a dog shelter and at a sea aquarium. Although I have a mild allergy to cats, it has never stopped me from loving and caring for them.
I am currently a student, so I have a flexible schedule. In my free time, I enjoy reading, sports, and spending time with my family. I have wanted to become a pet sitter for a long time because I cannot have pets of my own right now (student life), and I would love to give other pets the care, attention, and affection they deserve :)

Hi! I’m Adam, a 20-year-old law student from Ireland. Growing up, my home was always filled with pets, including dogs, cats, and even chickens. Most of them were rescues, and we regularly fostered animals while they waited for their forever homes. I’ve always been passionate about animals, especially smaller dog breeds, but I’ve also fostered and later adopted a female Doberman named Lexi, so I have experience with larger breeds too.

Over the years, I’ve cared for many different dogs: a Jack Russell named Clarabelle, several Chihuahuas, three Yorkshire Terriers, and a little rescue mutt called Bran. Archie, one of my Chihuahuas, suffers from hydrocephalus, and Clarabelle had arthritis and later developed cancer, so I understand the extra love and care dogs with health issues need.

Becoming a pet sitter and walker feels like the perfect fit. It’s a way to combine my passion for dogs with helping other pet owners feel at ease when they’re away.

As a pet owner myself, I know how important it is to feel confident that your furry friend is safe, happy, and well looked after. I treat every pet like they are part of my own family, making sure they receive the love, attention, and routine they are used to. I have experience with a variety of breeds and temperaments, including senior dogs and those with special needs. I’ve also delivered and raised puppies, as my Chihuahua Gloria had two litters in recent years.

Along with taking the best possible care of your pet, my goal is to ensure you feel completely at ease leaving them with me. I’m happy to follow any instructions you provide regarding food, medication, or daily routines.

Thank you for reading. I can’t wait to meet your furry friend!

Hello!
I'm Hugo and I'm from Portugal. I moved to the Netherlands over 2 years ago and it's been an amazing experience so far.
However I do miss the portuguese weather and my pets. I have 2 dogs and 3 cats back home, so I'm used to always have 4 pawed company everywhere I go.
Having the opportunity to pet sit here is just the icing in the cake for me.
I have experience with quite a few animals, back in Portugal, just before moving to the Netherlands I was working as a Zookeeper for one of the biggest zoo's in Portugal.
Some of the animals I was caring for were parrots, eagles, owls, ravens, lemurs, snakes, lizards, turtles and a lot more. I was very lucky to be surrounded by all those species of animals, it was a very fulfilling work for me and I learned a lot during my time there.
I'm open to pet sit for all kinds of animals as well, so if you liked my profile please don't hesitate to contact me and do let know if you have any additional questions.
Hope to hear from you soon!
