Top cities for house sitting in The Netherlands

Are you going away but have a pet that prefers to stay in their own environment? Or perhaps you have a range of different animals and it’s not practical for you to organise for them to stay in different places? Then you might want to consider finding a Pawshake house sitter to come and stay at your Ooij home while you are away.

House sitting is a convenient and affordable option when you have multiple pets and also want your house to be securely looked after while you are away. Many of our pet sitters have very reasonable house sitting rates because they enjoy staying and exploring different local neighbourhoods like Ooij.

At Pawshake, we understand that trusting your home to a stranger can be a little daunting. So we’ve done all the hard work to ensure that your Pawshake house sitter is trustworthy and reliable. All our pet sitter profiles are checked individually by our dedicated trust and safety team and some house sitters also have their own police checks which they can share with you.

The best thing about engaging a Pawshake verified house sitter is that you can relax knowing that on top of being covered by The Pawshake Guarantee which includes veterinary coverage, so your pets are being cared for in a familiar environment and your Ooij home is also being looked after as well.

In addition to looking after your pets, most of our house sitters will happily help you by collecting your mail, taking out the bins, and watering your plants. Just make sure you discuss all your requirements with your chosen house sitter prior to booking.

Hi! I’m Mert, and for the past five years, I’ve shared my home with a lovely cat who’s taught me a lot about animal companionship, patience, and joy. Spending time with animals has always been something that brings me peace and happiness. Whether it’s walking a curious dog or chilling on the couch with a shy cat, I genuinely enjoy getting to know their personalities and offering them care, play, and comfort.
Pet sitting and walking is a way to connect with animals and give them a safe, loving environment when their humans are away. To be honest, walking dogs is a great way to achieve my daily step goal as well. As a person who got help from others to care for my cat from time to time, I understand how important trust and communication are when it comes to caring for someone’s beloved pet. While I don’t have formal training, I treat animals with kindness, attentiveness, and respect.
For everyone’s safety and comfort, I prefer to care for pets that are vaccinated. Looking forward to meeting you and your furry friend!

Bonjour! My name is Charlène, and I’m excited about the opportunity to meet your furry friends I’ve had animals in my life for as long as I can remember. Being around them, you quickly realize how unique they are, each with their own personality and emotions. I currently have two cats that I love dearly : Inès and Charlie I’m also very comfortable with dogs, as I regularly spend time with them through my family and people around me. Almost everyone in my circle has pets : cats, dogs, and even a pig! I’m used to helping family, friends, and neighbors by taking care of their animals when they’re busy or away.I am an architect originally from Canada. I am now staying in the Netherlands with my dutch boyfriend.I’m a calm, reliable, and gentle person, and I truly care about creating a safe and loving environment for animals. I offer visits and walks (around 30 minutes or more depending on your pet’s needs), including feeding, refreshing water, cleaning litter boxes, brushing, playing, and giving lots of affection and positive reinforcement.Spending time with animals is something that brings me joy. It keeps me active, grounded, and happy. I would also love to build a relationship with regular furry clients during my stay.Feel free to message me Charlène

Hallo,Mijn naam is Ciske-Marie.

Hi, I’m Nicola!I’m originally from Australia and have been living in the Netherlands for the past 7 years. I grew up surrounded by animals—dogs, cats, and even birds—and caring for them has always brought me so much joy. Since moving here, I’ve really missed that daily connection with pets, and I’d be truly honoured to help care for your furry friend.
I can provide dog walking and pet sitting services and would be honoured to spend some quality time with your pet. I understand how busy life can get, and it’s not always easy to be home or take your dog out when needed. That’s where I come in -to help give you peace of mind and ensure your pet is happy, safe, and well cared for in your absence.
I’d treat your pet as if they were my own—with lots of love, patience, and kindness.
