Over ons:Ik ben Lotte, 28 jaar en een groot dierenliefhebber. Op dit moment ben ik met mijn vriend Martijn (29 jaar) voor 9 maanden in Mexico. Hij doet onderzoek naar drinkwater, en ik loop stage bij een meubelmaker. We woonden hiervoor in een huis met 4 honden en 1 kat, en gaan nog elke week bij ze langs om ze uit te laten. Op dit moment wonen we met 1 hondje, en passen we regelmatig op een huis met 4 honden en 3 katten - voor ons een droomsituatie :)&nbsp;
Drie juli komen we terug in Nederland voor ongeveer een half jaar. Daarna gaan we op zoek naar een huisje in het buitenland met veel ruimte; er moeten namelijk veel dieren kunnen wonen. Ik grap hier vaak dat ik met 30 honden eindig, maar het zou nog best kunnen kloppen. Contact maken en een band opbouwen met katten/honden maakt mij namelijk heel gelukkig. Ook Martijn wordt heel blij van dieren. We wandelen graag en zorgen met liefde voor plantjes (vooral Martijn is daar erg goed in).&nbsp;
Ervaringen:Ik ben opgegroeid met een kat, en tijdens mijn studententijd hadden we er 2.  De afgelopen jaren heb ik meerdere keren via Pawshake en andere afspraken opgepast op honden en katten. Ook pas ik regelmatig op de Maine Coon van mijn zus (de grijze kat op de foto).&nbsp;
Wat ik belangrijk vind, is het aanvoelen van de behoeften en grenzen van een dier. Ondanks mijn grote liefde voor knuffelen en aandacht geven, zal ik een dier nooit dwingen. Vertrouwen opbouwen staat voor mij centraal. Ik ben rustig, geduldig en oplettend, en vind het belangrijk dat een dier zich veilig voelt.&nbsp;
Wat zoeken we:We zoeken oppasadressen in of rondom Nijmegen, Utrecht of Amsterdam. We komen graag samen en het liefst voor een periode langer dan twee weken. Ik hoef maar één dag per week naar kantoor en Martijn is flexibel, waardoor de diertjes nooit lang alleen hoeven te zijn.&nbsp;

About us:I’m Lotte, 28 years old and a big animal lover. At the moment, my boyfriend Martijn (29) and I are in Mexico for nine months. He is doing research on drinking water, and I’m doing an internship with a furniture maker. Before, we lived in a house with four dogs and one cat, and we still visit them every week to take them for walks. Right now, we’re living with one little dog and regularly take care of a house with four dogs and three cats — for me, a dream situation :)
On July 3rd, we’ll return to the Netherlands for about six months. After that, we plan to look for a home abroad with plenty of space — there need to be lots of animals living there. I often joke that I might end up with 30 dogs one day, but this might be the truth. Building a connection and forming a bond with cats and dogs makes me truly happy. Martijn also absolutely loves animals. We enjoy going for walks and take care of plants as well (especially Martijn — he’s very good at it).
Experience:I grew up with a cat, and during my student years we had two. Over the past few years, I’ve taken care of several dogs and cats through Pawshake and other arrangements. I also regularly look after my sister’s Maine Coon (the grey cat in the photo).
What I find important is sensing an animal’s needs and boundaries. Even though I love cuddling and giving attention, I would never force an animal. Building trust is central to me. I am calm, patient, and attentive, and I find it important that an animal feels safe.
What we’re looking for:We are looking for house-sitting opportunities in or around Nijmegen, Utrecht, or Amsterdam, preferably for a period longer than two weeks. I only need to go to the office one day per week and Martijn is flexible, so the pets will never have to be alone for long.
