I truly love cats. Always have. Even though I work in tech, spending time with animals brings me the kind of joy and calm that nothing else does. I started pet sitting in 2018, and since then I’ve cared for many cats: from majestic Maine Coons, Chausies and other large breeds to mixed-breed cats, and shy rescues. Friends kept recommending me to others, and it naturally grew into something more. Over the years, I’ve worked with cats across different regions of the Netherlands and in several EU countries, adapting to many types of homes, temperaments, and routines.
I’m based in Zwolle, but for pet sitting bookings of two days or longer, I’m available to travel to other cities and regions within the Netherlands, and sometimes to other EU countries.
I only work with cats in their own homes. Unlike dogs, cats are extremely sensitive to change. Every move or unfamiliar space can be a major source of stress, even for a short stay. That’s why I believe it’s best for them to stay in their familiar environment, surrounded by their own scents, routines, and safe spots. I never force interaction. I give cats the time and space they need to come to me. I follow their daily rhythm closely: from feeding and playtime to medication schedules, and I pay close attention to their body language.
I’m experienced in giving medications gently, without stress. No force, no pills shoved into the throat. I usually mix them with familiar treats or use other calm and respectful techniques that work for the individual cat. Comfort and trust always come first.
I love creating gentle rituals, watching Cat TV together, and coming up with enriching games that support mental stimulation. If a cat shows interest, I introduce light training through positive reinforcement and clicker techniques, but I never force it. It’s always a fun, rewarding activity that feels like a game, not a task. Some cats love learning new things like giving a paw, walking figure-eights, or jumping on command. The goal is never obedience, but joyful interaction that keeps their minds sharp and spirits up.
I’ve completed courses in Animal Psychology and Pathophysiology of Domestic Animals, with a focus on observing behavior and detecting stress or health issues early. I also have experience with senior cats and those with anxiety, including my own.
I only work with vaccinated cats, specifically vaccinated against neusziekte (cat flu) and rabies. This is for the safety of your own pet as well as mine. I do not host animals at my place. I offer short daytime visits while you're at work. I’m a quiet guest, respectful of your space, and I never bring anyone with me &amp; sending you photo &amp; video reports frequently. I never leave pets alone for more than 3 hours, and I’m happy to care for your plants too, if needed.
One of the most special bonds I’ve had was with Tima, a 17-year-old senior cat I cared for regularly over the course of several years. Wise, dignified, and full of quiet presence, he left a lasting impression not only on me, but on everyone who knew him. His story has been mentioned in multiple books, and most recently, an Amsterdam-based writer dedicated an entire book just to him. A true feline legend.

Hallo, ik woon samen met mijn partner, 2 dochters, Hammie de hamster en 2 poezen pip (4 jr ) en Lilly ( net 2 jr ). Pip heeft een nestje gehad en wat was dat een mooie/leuke ervaring. Met poezen heb ik al wel&nbsp; ervaring. Ik verzorg vaak de poes van de buurvrouw. Heb bij 1 gezin opgepast op 2 honden en 2 poezen. Dit was mijn eerste ervaring en wat heb ik ervan genoten om ze te verzorgen, te knuffelen en met ze te spelen. Inmiddels heb ik al meerdere keren met veel liefde en aandacht voor poezen gezorgd. Vroeger heb ik ook nog een konijn en chin chillas gehad.&nbsp;
Op dit moment ben ik full time huismoeder. Ik heb jaren in de kinderopvang gewerkt, maar heb er nu voor gekozen om oa meer thuis te zijn voor mijn dochters als ze uit school komen.&nbsp;
Toch heb ik graag iets om handen. Zorgen en verzorgen zat er van kleins af aan al in. Dieren, buiten, genieten van de natuur, daar word ik blij van en krijg ik een lach op mijn gezicht. Vandaar dat ik mij heb ingeschreven als dierenoppas. Wie weet mag ik straks wel op jouw dier passen/het verzorgen. Of jullie huisdier meteen blij is of eerst even de kat uit de boom kijkt, dat maakt me niet uit. Iedereen heeft zijn eigen karakter en als dier mag je ook zijn wie je bent. Maar ik weet zeker dat als we elkaar leren kennen dat het helemaal goed komt.&nbsp;
Natuurlijk kunnen we dan eerst even kennis maken. Om te kijken of de klik er ook is van beide kanten, want dat is natuurlijk belangrijk. Dan kan ik eerst wat meer te weten komen over jouw huisdier. Wie weet ontmoeten we elkaar binnekort. Inmiddels heb ik meer ervaring mogen opdoen, want ik ben nu meer dan een jaar dierenoppas en geniet er volop van. Ik heb al een paar keer voor poezen gezorgd tijdens de vakantie van hun baasjes. Ik heb ook voor 2 oudere poezen gezorgd, waarvan 1 ook speciaal voer kreeg. Ook mag ik bij 2 verschillende gezinnen met regelmaat hun hond uitlaten ( meestal 1 x in de week ). Zo leuk, want dan word je ook echt maatjes. Ik zou dit graag nog meer willen doen. Ik hoop dat ik de kans krijg om nog meer ervaring op te doen, maar niet alleen ervaring. Maar ook jullie huisdier een fijne tijd bieden wanneer jullie er niet zijn.&nbsp;
Om nog meer te weten te komen over honden ben ik een boek aan het lezen: een vlekkeloos hondenleven. Hier lees/leer ik van alles over het welzijn/emoties en stress bij honden. Hoe honden de wereld ervaren, sociaal gedrag en behoeftes van de hond. Wat ontzettend leuk om meer te weten/leren.&nbsp;
Ik geniet ontzettend ervan om met dieren te zijn en ze te verzorgen/uit te laten. Dit kan tijdelijk zijn ivm vakantie of voor vast.&nbsp;
Logeren bied ik wel aan ondanks dat ik die niet aangevinkt/aangeboden heb. Dit komt omdat er alleen kleine knaagdieren zoals: konijnen, cavia's, hamsters enz kunnen komen logeren. We hebben in de woonkamer genoeg ruimte voor een hok. Er is evt ook ruimte bij mijn dochter op de kamer. Prijs hiervoor is in overleg.&nbsp;
Aangezien we zelf 2 poezen hebben kan ik GEEN honden of katten bij mij thuis opvangen. Onze poezen kunnen niet met honden.&nbsp;Ik heb ook de mogelijkheid om evt bij jullie thuis te komen oppassen. Ligt alleen even aan de afstand, waar en of mijn 2 kinderen ( 11 en 14 jaar ) evt ook momenten welkom zijn. Mocht je hier interesse voor hebben, dan kunnen we dat altijd rustig is bespreken.&nbsp;
