I currently have a cat back in my home country, and since I miss having a furry companion around, I truly enjoy spending time with other people’s pets. Being able to care for animals through Pawshake is something that brings me a lot of joy.
I have experience with both cats and dogs, and I always take time to understand each pet’s personality — whether they’re playful, shy, energetic, or calm. I’m responsible, patient, and very attentive to routines. Feeding, walking, cuddles, playtime, and keeping your pet comfortable all come naturally to me.
As a student, I have a flexible schedule and can give your pet plenty of attention and company. I also keep owners updated with messages and photos so you always know how your pet is doing. I’m happy to host vaccinated pets in my home or visit yours, depending on your needs.

I've beenaround animals from a young age. In my childhood home there were always cats, dogs and sometimes small animals like hamsters. So, I have experience with various types of pets, including older animals that need more peace, attention or care.&nbsp;
In the past I've regularly looked after animals through other websites or groups. I believe it's important for an animal to feel safe and comfortable, especially when its owner isn't around. I offer reliable care tailored to the animal's needs, whether that's playing, feeding, or simply providing quiet company.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Due to my job my availability during week is flexible. On friday and during the weekend I'm fully available. I’m comfortable providing basic grooming for pets and can give them oral medication when needed. If I’m house sitting, I can also water the plants. Currently I live in small apartment with 2 cats so I will not be able to provide boarding services for your pets.

Over ons:Ik ben Lotte, 28 jaar en een groot dierenliefhebber. Op dit moment ben ik met mijn vriend Martijn (29 jaar) voor 9 maanden in Mexico. Hij doet onderzoek naar drinkwater, en ik loop stage bij een meubelmaker. We woonden hiervoor in een huis met 4 honden en 1 kat, en gaan nog elke week bij ze langs om ze uit te laten. Op dit moment wonen we met 1 hondje, en passen we regelmatig op een huis met 4 honden en 3 katten - voor ons een droomsituatie :)&nbsp;
Drie juli komen we terug in Nederland voor ongeveer een half jaar. Daarna gaan we op zoek naar een huisje in het buitenland met veel ruimte; er moeten namelijk veel dieren kunnen wonen. Ik grap hier vaak dat ik met 30 honden eindig, maar het zou nog best kunnen kloppen. Contact maken en een band opbouwen met katten/honden maakt mij namelijk heel gelukkig. Ook Martijn wordt heel blij van dieren. We wandelen graag en zorgen met liefde voor plantjes (vooral Martijn is daar erg goed in).&nbsp;
Ervaringen:Ik ben opgegroeid met een kat, en tijdens mijn studententijd hadden we er 2.  De afgelopen jaren heb ik meerdere keren via Pawshake en andere afspraken opgepast op honden en katten. Ook pas ik regelmatig op de Maine Coon van mijn zus (de grijze kat op de foto).&nbsp;
Wat ik belangrijk vind, is het aanvoelen van de behoeften en grenzen van een dier. Ondanks mijn grote liefde voor knuffelen en aandacht geven, zal ik een dier nooit dwingen. Vertrouwen opbouwen staat voor mij centraal. Ik ben rustig, geduldig en oplettend, en vind het belangrijk dat een dier zich veilig voelt.&nbsp;
Wat zoeken we:We zoeken oppasadressen in of rondom Nijmegen, Utrecht of Amsterdam. We komen graag samen en het liefst voor een periode langer dan twee weken. Ik hoef maar één dag per week naar kantoor en Martijn is flexibel, waardoor de diertjes nooit lang alleen hoeven te zijn.&nbsp;

About us:I’m Lotte, 28 years old and a big animal lover. At the moment, my boyfriend Martijn (29) and I are in Mexico for nine months. He is doing research on drinking water, and I’m doing an internship with a furniture maker. Before, we lived in a house with four dogs and one cat, and we still visit them every week to take them for walks. Right now, we’re living with one little dog and regularly take care of a house with four dogs and three cats — for me, a dream situation :)
On July 3rd, we’ll return to the Netherlands for about six months. After that, we plan to look for a home abroad with plenty of space — there need to be lots of animals living there. I often joke that I might end up with 30 dogs one day, but this might be the truth. Building a connection and forming a bond with cats and dogs makes me truly happy. Martijn also absolutely loves animals. We enjoy going for walks and take care of plants as well (especially Martijn — he’s very good at it).
Experience:I grew up with a cat, and during my student years we had two. Over the past few years, I’ve taken care of several dogs and cats through Pawshake and other arrangements. I also regularly look after my sister’s Maine Coon (the grey cat in the photo).
What I find important is sensing an animal’s needs and boundaries. Even though I love cuddling and giving attention, I would never force an animal. Building trust is central to me. I am calm, patient, and attentive, and I find it important that an animal feels safe.
What we’re looking for:We are looking for house-sitting opportunities in or around Nijmegen, Utrecht, or Amsterdam, preferably for a period longer than two weeks. I only need to go to the office one day per week and Martijn is flexible, so the pets will never have to be alone for long.

Ik begrijp hoe spannend het is om je gezinslid thuis te laten wanneer je op vakantie gaat. Met liefde kom ik langs om het beestje te voorzien van eten, een schone kattenbak en als hij/zij het toelaat, heel veel liefde.&nbsp;Ik ben 29 jaar, woonachtig in Arnhem, werkzaam in de communicatie en voorlichting bij de Radboud Universiteit in Nijmegen en erg sociaal en empathisch. Zelf vind ik het best spannend om mijn kat achter te laten als ik een weekend weg ga of een reis ga maken. Daarom vind ik het belangrijk dat je je prettig bij me voelt en dat je huisdier goed op mij reageert. Ik ben communicatief sterk en stuur je regelmatig een foto of filmpje van je huisdier.Ik kom graag bij je thuis om de kat of poes te verzorgen wanneer je van huis bent.&nbsp;Planten wateren en post verzamelen is geen probleem. In overleg kan de kat ook bij mij in het huis komen. Het gaat om een appartement van 73 m2 met balkon, twee mensen (ikzelf en mijn beste vriend van 27 jaar) en een poes van drie jaar. Je viervoeter mag overal in huis komen, behalve op het aanrecht.Ook laat ik graag je hond uit in een bos/park/hondentuin bij jou in de buurt. De wandeling zal ongeveer een half uur duren. Ik heb geen ervaring met het toedienen van medicijnen of het geven van trainingen of vachtverzorging. Een hond in huis kan voor een paar uur, maar in verband met de poes is dit niet handig voor meerdere dagen.Ik werk 32 uur per week bij de Radboud Universiteit. Woensdag is mijn vrije dag, vrijdag werk ik thuis en de overige dagen ben ik op kantoor. Spending time with animals has always been something that brings me peace and happiness. Whether it’s walking a curious dog or chilling on the couch with a shy cat, I genuinely enjoy getting to know their personalities and offering them care, play, and comfort.
Pet sitting and walking is a way to connect with animals and give them a safe, loving environment when their humans are away. To be honest, walking dogs is a great way to achieve my daily step goal as well. As a person who got help from others to care for my cat from time to time, I understand how important trust and communication are when it comes to caring for someone’s beloved pet. While I don’t have formal training, I treat animals with kindness, attentiveness, and respect.

Ik heb twee katten en ben opgegroeid met honden en vogels, dus dieren maken al mijn hele leven deel uit van mijn dagelijks leven. In mijn vrije tijd pas ik graag op huisdieren — ik geef ze eten, ga met ze wandelen of speel met ze. Daarnaast houd ik van buiten wandelen in de natuur, fotografie en badminton. Of het nu een rustige wandeling is met een hond of gewoon even knuffelen met een kat, ik geniet echt van het gezelschap van dieren. Hoi! Ik ben meestal beschikbaar voor 11 uur 's ochtends, na 17.00 uur en 's avonds — perfect voor knuffels in de ochtend of een avondwandeling!&nbsp;
Ik bied huisdierenoppas, huisbezoeken en hondenuitlaatservice aan. Ik speel graag met je hond of kat, geef ze eten en zorg dat ze zich veilig en blij voelen als jij weg bent. Ik kan ook planten water geven en de post binnenhalen als dat nodig is.
Ik bied geen vachtverzorging of training aan, maar ik help graag met de basisverzorging en kan indien nodig orale medicatie toedienen.
Bij huisbezoeken blijf ik meestal ongeveer 30 minuten: genoeg tijd voor eten, spelen, knuffelen en een snelle controle in huis. Ik sluit alles goed af en controleer het water voordat ik vertrek.
Mijn hondenwandelingen duren 30 minuten tot 1 uur, afhankelijk van de energie van je hond. We wandelen meestal in de buurt of op een plek waar je hond graag komt — laat me vooral weten wat zijn of haar favoriete plek is!
