Top cities for cat sitting in The Netherlands

Many cat owners will understand that cats can be fussy and prefer their own home environment rather than an unfamiliar place like a cattery or cat hotel. Although some cats can adapt to cat boarding if they have to, most cats become stressed when transported somewhere new.

This is where a friendly The Hague Pawshake cat feeder or carer can help. Our The Hague cat sitting expert can come and visit your cat while you are away on holiday or at work. A cat sitter can even stay overnight if required, which is far less stressful than sending your feline friend to a cattery for cat boarding. Whether you just need a sitter for a couple of hours or someone to visit each day for a week, our The Hague cat sitters can tailor their service to suit you and please even the fussiest kitty.

Although most cats are independent, having a cat carer visit has a lot of benefits. Your chosen Pawshake cat sitter can feed, freshen up the water bowl, tidy the litter tray, and spend quality time with your cat. And unlike a cattery or cat hotel, your cat can chill out in their own familiar space.

Finally, every booking with Pawshake is with a verified carer and includes the Pawshake Guarantee and veterinary coverage, so you have nothing to worry about when it comes to your feline companion!

Dear dog parent,

My name is Mahan. I am a lawyer and currently work from home for my own company. Dogs have been part of my life for as long as I can remember, and I have always shared my home with them. Caring for dogs feels natural to me rather than like a job. To me, dogs are not “just pets”. They are family and deserve to be treated with patience, respect, and genuine love.

Because I work from home, I’m able to give dogs my full attention throughout the day. I truly enjoy being surrounded by dogs and creating a calm, loving environment where they feel safe, relaxed, and cared for. I bond very easily with dogs and always take the time to understand their personality, needs, and daily routine.

I have a deep understanding of dogs who need extra patience, reassurance, and gentle care. Anxious or sensitive dogs often feel especially safe with me because I respect their boundaries and move at their pace.

I have a small dog of my own, so safety and harmony in my home are extremely important. For this reason, I can only accept fully vaccinated dogs and cannot take dogs with aggressive behavior. I kindly ask to see your dog’s vaccination card before confirming a booking. In the unlikely event that a dog shows unexpected aggressive behavior during their stay, I would ask that they are picked up as soon as possible to ensure everyone’s safety. If immediate pickup is not possible, your dog will be safely and comfortably separated in a calm space until arrangements can be made.

I am especially gentle and patient, and I care for every dog as if they were my own. Whether your dog enjoys playtime, quiet companionship, or lots of cuddles, they will always be looked after with attention, affection, and respect. I truly understand how important it is to feel at ease when leaving your dog with someone else, and I’m happy to provide updates so you can relax knowing your dog is loved and in good hands while you’re away.

I will take your dog(s) at least twice a day for walks depending on how much time they will be spending with me. I can take them for multiple short potty walks as needed and if your dog likes long walks I can take them to the nearby dog park where they can run around freely and most importantly, safely.

The number of dogs I can look after in one day depends entirely on my bookings. Some dogs need more attention than others and when they're my guests I tend to keep the number below 2 dog guests. If you need my full attention for your dog then we can make extra arrangements depending on my bookings. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. I want to make sure you are feeling absolutely comfortable with trusting me with your dog

My wife and I are lifelong dog people who understand how important it is for them to feel safe, loved and at home while you're away. She grew up always having dogs in the house; I spent my younger years dog sitting; and together, we now share our lives with two wonderful canines—Barkley and Cooper.

As two conscientious young professionals, we're committed to providing a homey and safe environment for every dog we care for. When we're not working, traveling, or spending time with friends, you'll usually find us out walking Barkley and Cooper— typically at the beach or through the wooded areas in and around The Hague.

On slower days, we're often by the canal near our home, letting the dogs soak in fresh air and lounge in the shade when they're not lazy on the couch.

Thanks to our car, we also enjoy exploring quieter, scenic spots outside the city—perfect for the pups that enjoy a bit more space to roam. Please note that we do ask that any dog we host is fully vaccinated, just to keep everyone safe and healthy.

Between us, we have plenty of experience recognizing what dogs need—whether it's space to zoom, a quiet spot to rest, some extra reassurance, alone time, or a healthy and well-timed treat. If you're looking for folks who will love and care for your pup the way you do, we'd be happy to help.

Hello! My name is Ghighi, and I recently graduated with my Master’s degree in The Hague. I grew up around animals and have always had a special connection with them. Back home, I had two dogs whom I absolutely adore, but unfortunately they had to stay with my family when I moved to the Netherlands. I miss them a lot, which is one of the reasons I love spending time with animals whenever I can.

Now I live with my little cat called Diva hehe :)) She has truly changed my life here! Animals bring me so much happiness and they ground me a lot. I always try to spend as much time as possible around them and always want to make them feel safe, cared for, and loved.

As a parent to a cat and two dogs, I truly understand how stressful it can feel to leave your kid with someone new, especially when you have to be away for a while. I completely understand that feeling and the trust it requires.

Every animal has its own personality, needs, and routines, and I genuinely enjoy getting to know them. I put effort to understand what makes them comfortable and happy!

Extra betekenisvolle bijdragen:
Huis netjes houden (planten water geven, post ophalen)
Eventuele basis-gedragstraining of commando’s oefenen indien gewenst
Groetjes, Danny

Hi! I’m Zekiye.

I have experience taking care of many different kinds of pets. I’m organized with feeding times, water changes, cleaning, playtime, and any special needs they may have. I also observe their behavior closely to understand what makes them feel comfortable and secure.

If you’re looking for a reliable and kind pet sitter you can truly trust with your furry, feathery, or scaly friend, I’d love to meet you! Whether you need help for a few hours or several days, I’m here to care for your pet like they’re part of my own family.

Hallo!
