Top cities for cat sitting in The Netherlands

Many cat owners will understand that cats can be fussy and prefer their own home environment rather than an unfamiliar place like a cattery or cat hotel. Although some cats can adapt to cat boarding if they have to, most cats become stressed when transported somewhere new.

This is where a friendly Rotterdam Pawshake cat feeder or carer can help. Our Rotterdam cat sitting expert can come and visit your cat while you are away on holiday or at work. A cat sitter can even stay overnight if required, which is far less stressful than sending your feline friend to a cattery for cat boarding. Whether you just need a sitter for a couple of hours or someone to visit each day for a week, our Rotterdam cat sitters can tailor their service to suit you and please even the fussiest kitty.

Although most cats are independent, having a cat carer visit has a lot of benefits. Your chosen Pawshake cat sitter can feed, freshen up the water bowl, tidy the litter tray, and spend quality time with your cat. And unlike a cattery or cat hotel, your cat can chill out in their own familiar space.

Finally, every booking with Pawshake is with a verified carer and includes the Pawshake Guarantee and veterinary coverage, so you have nothing to worry about when it comes to your feline companion!

I am Defne, 26 years old young women who absolutely adores animals. I always had an animal when I'm growing up from rabbits to cats and I was responsible from their well-beings and for caring for them. I just moved to the Netherlands a year ago and have been missing my cat that I grew up with since then. Unfortunately, he's super old at this point and moving him to another country would cause a health risk so I had to leave my cat behind at my mum's house. Since I moved here, I have been pet sitting my friend's cat regularly but she doesn't need it aymore as much as she needed before. I decided to try and join a trust worthy pet sitting community to help other people care for their fur babies since I know however you care for your pet, you sometimes need some external help or support to make sure they're safe and taken care of when other responsibilities or plans get in the way. I am well experienced about caring cats and somewhat experienced about dogs but my love and excitement to care for them both is the same. I am currently living in an apartment that I share with my fiancee and we have more than enough space for an animal to join us time to time here. Additionally, I am a self-employed interior designer and mostly I make my own hours which gives me the great flexibility to have the time to spend with the fur babies. One of the main reasons that I want to become a pet sitter is, before eventually we adopt a cat or a dog, help others as much as we can and see how having one around will fit in our new lives here. Thanks for the opportunity!

I am currently pursuing a master's in law at Erasmus University, which brought me to the Netherlands. I grew up in an incredibly animal-loving family, especially my mother, who is well-known among her friends for her deep love of animals. Since childhood, we’ve hosted many pets in our home, which has shaped my deep affection for them. I love caring for animals and see them as true companions and friends. This love for animals has been a constant in my life and motivates me to engage with them whenever I can. Since I’m here for my studies, my cat is staying with my family in my home country, and I miss him dearly. This distance from him only strengthens my motivation to care for and connect with other pets during my time here. Being surrounded by animals continues to bring me immense joy and fulfillment, and it is something I always seek out. I can host cats at my home.

I have owned, walked and looked after dogs both in the UK and in The Netherlands. I love dogs. I love the walks, the cuddles, all the different personalities. I was brought up with labradors and spaniels. And have owned and bred spaniels in the UK, as well as sitting and walking various dogs both there and here in Rotterdam. I am also used to administer medicines. I moved to Rotterdam 3+ years ago with my now senior spaniels. We live in a very spacious place, with enclosed dog friendly garden and I have time, energy and patience to look after and/or walk all different dogs, young, senior, small, large, nervous, relaxed... I prefer to walk/visit and look after your dog based from your home as I can give them more time and they are in their familiar surroundings. I think dog sitting work is a real privilege and also a responsibility so I treat my work professionally and am completely reliable knowing you're putting your trust in someone to look after your beautiful dogs (I know because I always worry when someone new is looking after my dogs!) I am happy to keep you updated with messages, photos, videos depending on your preferences.

Hi there! We are Victoria and Nico; a pet-loving couple living in a cozy apartment, and we miss having a furry companion around our home

In 2022, we went through the painful experience of losing our beloved dog to cancer. While we aren't quite ready to adopt a new pet of our own just yet, caring for others' animals gives us so much joy and allows us to share all the love we have to give.

We have flexible work routines that allow us to dedicate plenty of time to your pets. I work from the office only 1 day a week, and my partner works in the office 2 days, meaning one of us is almost always at home—including mornings and weekdays. Your pet will never feel lonely and will get constant attention, companionship, and care.

Pets staying with us are treated like family. They are never left alone overnight and rarely alone for more than a few hours during the day.

We live very close to wonderful dog-friendly parks and green areas, perfect for daily outdoor time and 1+ hour walks. Since we live in an apartment, dogs should be comfortable with stairs or small enough to be carried safely.

We strictly follow your feeding schedules, walking routines, and house rules. We are comfortable administering oral medications if needed (though we cannot give injections).

We love capturing sweet moments, so you can expect plenty of photo and video updates throughout their stay!

Feel free to send us a message with any questions or your desired dates—we’d love to meet you and your pet!

Cheers,
Victoria & Nico

Hi!
I'm a 20 year old student and I love animals. I can walk your dog almost every day from Sunday to Friday afternoon. I'm currently on a weight loss journey too, so walking your dog would definitely motivate me to walk more!
I have quite a bit of experience with animals, because I used to walk our neighbours dog all the time (sometimes several times a day oops). I've wanted a dog since I was little, but I was never allowed to. Now I can walk your dog (which feels relatively close to owning one myself). I also ride horses if that says anything!
I love meeting new pets and animals, so if I can walk yours, please do contact me!
It's important to me that your pet and I can have a connection. It'll be more comfortable for both me and your pet as well.
I love photography, so if you want some pictures of your pet, ask me! I really enjoy doing photography (and of course, it's free). I've always wanted to practice with dogs because of my love for them.
