Van jongs af aan hebben we altijd huisdieren gehad. Van vogels tot konijnen en van hond tot kat. Zelf heb ik momenteel een lieve kat en mag ik mezelf mede-eigenaar noemen van 3 schatten van hondjes. Ik heb vrijwilligerswerk gedaan bij een hondenuitlaatservice en een blindengeleidenhondenschool. Hier heb ik veel geleerd over het aanleren van gewenst gedrag en heb ik veel ervaring opgedaan met puppy's. Daarnaast heb ik ervaring met grotere hondenrassen zoals rottweilers en herders. Ik vind het belangrijk dat een dier zich op zijn gemak voelt en lekker zijn eigen ding kan doen. Knuffelen en uitgebreid spelen en wandelen hoort daar natuurlijk ook bij. 
Mijn kat vind honden nog wat spannend, maar ze is erg respectvol en communicatief hierover. Ze zal een rustiger plekje zoeken en confrontatie vermijden. Als ze een hond vaker ziet of langere tijd om zich heen heeft komt ze op haar tempo kennismaken, want ze is wel nieuwsgierig.
