Top cities for cat sitting in The Netherlands

Many cat owners will understand that cats can be fussy and prefer their own home environment rather than an unfamiliar place like a cattery or cat hotel. Although some cats can adapt to cat boarding if they have to, most cats become stressed when transported somewhere new.

This is where a friendly IJsselstein Pawshake cat feeder or carer can help. Our IJsselstein cat sitting expert can come and visit your cat while you are away on holiday or at work. A cat sitter can even stay overnight if required, which is far less stressful than sending your feline friend to a cattery for cat boarding. Whether you just need a sitter for a couple of hours or someone to visit each day for a week, our IJsselstein cat sitters can tailor their service to suit you and please even the fussiest kitty.

Although most cats are independent, having a cat carer visit has a lot of benefits. Your chosen Pawshake cat sitter can feed, freshen up the water bowl, tidy the litter tray, and spend quality time with your cat. And unlike a cattery or cat hotel, your cat can chill out in their own familiar space.

Finally, every booking with Pawshake is with a verified carer and includes the Pawshake Guarantee and veterinary coverage, so you have nothing to worry about when it comes to your feline companion!

Hey My name is Martha and I'm originally from Germany but came to Utrecht to study. I'm a Student at the University of Utrecht. Because I have a pretty chill schedule, I like to spend all the time the I have outside. Because I can not have my own pet right now as my flat is too small, I'm looking for a companion to spend my time with outside. I grew up with cats in my life but always had a special love for dogs. I've never had my own but I spend all the time I could with the dogs of friends around me, giving me the option to learn a lot about them and also learning how to train them. And because I don't have the option of having my own pet right now, I'm looking for options to spend at least some of my time with any animal possible. You can see my passion for animals also with horses, as I've been doing Horseriding since I was 4 and I just spend a couple of moths in Iceland, training young Icelandic horses as well as a young giant German schnauzer girl. I speak fluent English and German, and I understand Dutch completely but I'm still learning how to speed it fluently.

Hi There, I am a dog mom myself and an Expat here. I did experience many times the hardship of finding a sitter for your dog that you can trust and leave your little one with while you're away. Specially during holidays season or last minute travel emergencies.I have my dog for over 9 years and we ve traveled a lot together. She's very sweet and chilled around other dogs ️. I am not always available but making sure my calendar is updated. I do not take cats unfortunately because I am allergic. if your dog is hyperactive, I would not recommend keeping it with my dog. I also don't have a garden so if your dog is used to being outside all day, I would not recommend either :). Walking morning and evening is my usual with my dog so if your dog needs more walk, I may not be able to help with that.

--------------------------------------------------------I love animals and enjoy spending as much time as possible with dogs and cats. At the moment, it’s not the right time in my life to have a pet of my own, which is why I really enjoy taking care of other people’s pets.
Over the past few years, I’ve regularly looked after dogs and cats for friends, for example when they were away for a weekend. I love going on walks with dogs, playing with cats, and of course giving them lots of cuddles. Since every pet is different, I always pay close attention to their individual needs and follow the owner’s preferences.
I can help with daily care such as feeding, walking, playing and providing companionship. I’m also happy to visit multiple times a day or stay a bit longer if required. When walking a dog, I always adjust the length of each walk to suit the dog's need and energy level.
While caring for your pet, I’ll gladly send updates from time to time, so you can relax knowing they’re in good hands.
I’m currently very flexible and available both weekdays and weekends.

I’ve been working as a professional pet sitter for about 10 years. I moved to the Netherlands a 2 ago and I’ve been pet sitting here since the day I moved! :)
Having pets myself, I know exactly how important it is to feel safe and confident when leaving them in someone else’s care. That’s why I make it my mission to provide trustworthy, loving and reliable pet sitting.

I grew up in a happy home full of cats, dogs, and a little water turtle, so animals have always been a huge part of my life. For the past year I’ve been living in the Netherlands with my two rescue dogs and it’s been amazing to continue my love for pet care here.

Over the years, pet owner's feedback has been wonderful and it’s so rewarding to see pets thriving while their humans are away. I’m passionate about giving every furry friend the care, attention and love they deserve, so they feel right at home even when their owners aren’t around.

Hi! I’m a huge animal lover from Amsterdam and have been the go-to pet sitter for friends and family for over 10 years. I’ve always had dogs and cats of my own, so caring for animals has always been a big part of my life. I’ve looked after all kinds of dogs and cats, and I genuinely love it!

So why not help more pet parents in Amsterdam? If you need someone to look after your furbaby while you’re away, I’d love to help!

I’m comfortable with all personalities, from energetic pups to shy cats, and can also help with basic training or medication when needed.

Staying at my place? Expect a calm home, lots of love, regular meals, at least 3 good walks a day for dogs, plenty of sofa cuddles, and daily photo & video updates so you never miss out on the fun!

You enjoy your time away, they get their own little holiday. Win-win!

Let’s meet and see if we’re a good match!

I offer a high-standard, personalized pet care service designed for owners who value reliability, structure, and genuine attention to their pet’s well-being.

My connection with animals began early, since the age of 9–10, I’ve cared for a wide variety of pets, developing a natural understanding of their behavior, emotions, and individual needs.

I also gained professional experience working in a busy dog daycare, where we sometimes cared for up to 120 dogs in a single day. This taught me how to stay calm, attentive, and in control in any situation, confidently handling dogs of all sizes, temperaments, and energy levels.

My services are structured, not random:

• Walks: typically 35 minutes to 1 hour, depending on your dog’s energy level, routine, and needs. I focus on both physical exercise and mental stimulation, not just “quick walks.”

• Home visits: include feeding, fresh water, cleaning if needed, playtime and calm companionship. I always adapt the visit to your pet’s personality, whether they need interaction or a more relaxed presence.

• House sitting (sleepovers): I maintain your pet’s routine as closely as possible to reduce stress, offering a calm and stable environment while you’re away, as well as your house that will be tidy and clean.

Communication & trust are key:I provide regular updates, photos, and honest feedback so you always know how your pet is doing. You won’t be left guessing.

Emergency handling:In unexpected situations, I stay calm and act quickly. I follow your instructions, contact you immediately, and if needed, take your pet to a vet without hesitation. Your pet’s safety always comes first.

I naturally connect with all types of animals, including those who are more sensitive, anxious, or strong-willed and I adjust my approach to each one individually.

To maintain a high level of care, I only accept a limited number of bookings. This allows me to give each pet my full attention and provide a safe, structured, and stress-free experience.

If you’re looking for someone experienced, reliable, and fully dedicated, someone who treats your pet with real care, love, awareness and respect. This is exactly what I offer.
Can't wait to hear from you and meet your furry one.

I want to be a pet sitter because I genuinely love spending time with animals, caring for them, and ensuring they feel happy, comfortable, and safe while their owners are away. Animals bring so much joy and companionship, and I believe they deserve the best care, attention, and affection. Having grown up with pets, I understand how important it is for them to feel loved and secure, even when their owners are not around.
I have two cats back in my own country, and since I miss them a lot, becoming a pet sitter will allow me to stay close to animals and share my love for them. Taking care of pets wont be just a responsibility for me—it will be something I truly enjoy. Whether it’s cuddling, playing, or ensuring their well-being, I’m dedicated to making pets feel at home and providing them with the love and attention they deserve.
I prefer being a pet sitter only for vaccinated pets because the health and safety of both the pets and myself are a top priority. By caring for vaccinated pets, I can focus on providing love, attention, and proper care without concerns about preventable illnesses.

To help your pet feel comfortable and at home, please bring along their food and food bowl, water bowl, litter box, scratching post, and favorite toys.
