Top cities for cat sitting in The Netherlands

Many cat owners will understand that cats can be fussy and prefer their own home environment rather than an unfamiliar place like a cattery or cat hotel. Although some cats can adapt to cat boarding if they have to, most cats become stressed when transported somewhere new.

This is where a friendly Helmond Pawshake cat feeder or carer can help. Our Helmond cat sitting expert can come and visit your cat while you are away on holiday or at work. A cat sitter can even stay overnight if required, which is far less stressful than sending your feline friend to a cattery for cat boarding. Whether you just need a sitter for a couple of hours or someone to visit each day for a week, our Helmond cat sitters can tailor their service to suit you and please even the fussiest kitty.

Although most cats are independent, having a cat carer visit has a lot of benefits. Your chosen Pawshake cat sitter can feed, freshen up the water bowl, tidy the litter tray, and spend quality time with your cat. And unlike a cattery or cat hotel, your cat can chill out in their own familiar space.

Finally, every booking with Pawshake is with a verified carer and includes the Pawshake Guarantee and veterinary coverage, so you have nothing to worry about when it comes to your feline companion!

About me
My name is James, a father of two human girls and two cats.
I am a dog person. When I lived in my home country Taiwan, I had a Bernice Mountain "A Shan", which means mountains in Mandarin. After A Shan passed away in his twelve, I decided not to have another dog.
In 2023, I moved to the Netherlands with my family. I found Netherlands an ideal place to live with a dog. However, I am not sure if I am ready to have a new dog as family member. That’s why I would like to take care for others’ dogs first.
About my experience
After spending 20 years living with dogs (I also had a mixed small dog before A Shan), I get along with big and small dogs well. I can pet, walk, clean, feed, give oral or skin medicine, and play with your dogs. If necessary, I can also pick them up and drop them by your house within 5km around 5702TN.
About my neighborhood
There is a lot of greeneries and walk paths around my house. There is also a fenced dog playgound nearly.
About my service
Home visits: up to 30 min playing with your dog, watering plant, or other home caring jobs while you are away...open for discussion
Dog walking: up to 30 min per walk, 2 walks a day, depending on if your dog needs extra or less walk, it's also open for discussion.
Home boarding and daycare:
If your dog is calm and can get along with my cats, s/he will stay in our ground floor. Please see my photos for the ground floor space. Otherwise, we also has a semi outdoor space with glassdoor and a fenced garden to ensure your dog is safe and warm here. Feel free to bring dog toys or bed with him/her.
There are a lot of greeneries and walk paths around my house. There is also a fenced dog playground nearby. We can play catch balls there.
During the day there will be just me in my house, so I will have a lot of time to be with your dog. In the morning when I walk my kids to school and in the afternoon when I get my kids back, your dog can be with us.
I ride mountain bike. I can bring your dog with me to run in the woods if you are fine with that.
However, if your dog needs to be accompanied 24/7 without leaving, it could be quite challenging. We need to discuss beforehand and make sure we understand each other's requirements.
There will be only up to 1 big dog or 2 small dogs at my house at a time.

Hello guys! I'm Nerea. I am 24 years old and I'm working and living here for 2 years. I’m originally from Barcelona and now living in Helmond.
I really enjoy spending time with dogs and I’ve looked after several dogs for friends and family, from small calm ones to more energetic breeds. I’m comfortable adapting to different personalities and needs.
I’m usually available on weekdays after 17:30 and weekends, and I can be flexible depending on the request. Walks are normally between 30 and 90 minutes, always adjusted to the dog’s energy level. I prefer safe parks and quiet walking areas where dogs can feel relaxed and explore.
If something unexpected happens, I stay calm and focused. I always make sure the dog is safe first and I will contact the owner immediately if needed. I pay close attention to behaviour so I can react quickly if a dog feels stressed or unwell.
I’m responsible, patient and genuinely enjoy taking care of dogs, making sure they feel safe, understood and comfortable at all times.

The history of our world proves that you can buy anything for money, except for a happy wagging of a dog’s tail. Lady and The Tramp
My name is Sofiia, a live in Helmond with my husband.
When I was a child, I really wanted a dog. But I was not allowed to have it ️
But some neighbour had a charming little dog called Dale, a small cocker spaniel. And I went to the neighbour almost every day and asked: Could I go out with Dale outside?
I have grown up, but unfortunately I still do not have the opportunity to get a dog. But I have good experience of interacting with different breeds of dogs my friends.
So I will be happy to walk with your Dog

I don't have a dog, but I have a beautiful cat Robert ️
We took him from the street when he was a little kitten.
Unfortunately, he had problems with the kidneys, so I have a big experience in caring for a sick cat.
And I really know how important it is to know your pet is fine, so I can also feed, change a toilet and play with your cat if you are away.

Mijn beschikbaarheid is verschillend.
Stuur me gerust een berichtje.

Mijn naam is Julian.

Hi! I’m a dedicated animal lover with lifelong experience caring for pets of all kinds. I grew up in a home filled with cats and dogs, so understanding animals and their needs has always come naturally to me. Today I have my own cat, I frequently help care for my girlfriend’s dog, and my sister is a veterinarian who has two dogs and two horses. Being surrounded by so many different animals over the years has taught me how to read their behavior, understand their comfort levels, and adapt to all kinds of personalities — from confident and social to shy, anxious, or independent. My Dog Walking RoutineWhen I take your dog for a walk, I follow a calm, steady and structured routine to make the experience fun, safe, and stress-free. I begin every walk by giving your dog a moment to settle and get comfortable with me. Once we’re ready, I guide the walk at a pace that fits your dog’s age, energy level, and temperament. I always allow plenty of sniff time — because mental stimulation is just as important as physical exercise.I’m patient with excited dogs who need a moment to calm down, gentle with nervous or sensitive dogs, and encouraging with dogs who need a bit more confidence. I avoid unknown dogs, crowded areas, and anything that could be overwhelming. Your dog’s comfort and sense of security always come first. My Home Visit RoutineDuring home visits, I aim to make your pet feel safe, relaxed, and cared for. I begin by checking water, food, and any instructions you’ve left. After that, I spend time giving your pet exactly what they enjoy — whether that’s playtime, cuddles, gentle encouragement, or simply staying close so they don’t feel alone.I also keep an eye on the home itself: I check windows, doors and gates, tidy up anything the pet may have knocked over, and make sure everything is secure before I leave. Every visit is adapted to your pet’s personality and mood. Some pets want active play, others want company, and some prefer a calm atmosphere — I naturally adjust to what makes them feel their best.Handling Different PersonalitiesOver the years I’ve worked with pets who are energetic and adventurous, gentle and sensitive, shy or anxious, playful and social, or a mix of all these traits. I take the time to observe body language — tail position, ear movement, breathing, posture — and I never rush interactions.Confident pets get space to explore; nervous pets get patience and reassurance; excited pets get structure, guidance, and a calm presence. Every animal has its own way of communicating, and I always listen. My Safety MeasuresSafety is a non-negotiable part of my care. I use reliable equipment and secure leash handling at all times. Before every walk, I check collars, harnesses, and surroundings. I stay alert to traffic, other animals, and unexpected events. I never take risks with off-leash walking unless it’s trusted, approved, and truly safe.During home visits, I double-check doors, gates, and the environment before and after I leave. You can be confident that your pet is in responsible hands that prioritize their well-being.What You Can Expect From MeWith me, your pet will always receive patience, kindness, structure, and attention. My goal is to make every walk and visit enjoyable and stress-free, while giving you peace of mind knowing your pet is treated with genuine care and respect.I truly look forward to meeting your furry friend and becoming someone they’re excited to see!
