Top cities for cat sitting in The Netherlands

Many cat owners will understand that cats can be fussy and prefer their own home environment rather than an unfamiliar place like a cattery or cat hotel. Although some cats can adapt to cat boarding if they have to, most cats become stressed when transported somewhere new.

This is where a friendly De Kwakel Pawshake cat feeder or carer can help. Our De Kwakel cat sitting expert can come and visit your cat while you are away on holiday or at work. A cat sitter can even stay overnight if required, which is far less stressful than sending your feline friend to a cattery for cat boarding. Whether you just need a sitter for a couple of hours or someone to visit each day for a week, our De Kwakel cat sitters can tailor their service to suit you and please even the fussiest kitty.

Although most cats are independent, having a cat carer visit has a lot of benefits. Your chosen Pawshake cat sitter can feed, freshen up the water bowl, tidy the litter tray, and spend quality time with your cat. And unlike a cattery or cat hotel, your cat can chill out in their own familiar space.

Finally, every booking with Pawshake is with a verified carer and includes the Pawshake Guarantee and veterinary coverage, so you have nothing to worry about when it comes to your feline companion!

Animals truly make me happy and I would like to help people out by taking care of them. I have 3 cats myself and am a devoted cat mommy. One of my cats has kidney issues, so I am also experienced to pets with special needs. And if it's something new, I'm willing to learn. I love dogs too, I usually go on walks with my friends dog every week. I love to get some exercise with a pet-friend.

I have lived with dogs for 24 of my 43 years, and they have always been an important part of my life. Over the years, I have learned a great deal about dog behavior, daily routines, exercise needs, and how to make dogs feel comfortable and safe in a home environment.

In addition to caring for my own dogs, I have regularly looked after friends’ dogs while they were away. This experience has allowed me to care for dogs with different personalities, energy levels, and routines. I understand that every dog is unique and deserves individual attention and care.

I work from home regularly, which allows me to spend plenty of time with the dogs in my care. Dogs are never left alone for long periods and receive regular walks, playtime, attention, and affection throughout the day. I always follow the owner’s instructions regarding feeding schedules, exercise, medication, and any special requirements.

Safety is extremely important to me. I introduce dogs calmly and carefully, keep a close eye on their behavior, and make sure they feel secure and relaxed. In case of an emergency, I remain calm, act responsibly, and contact both the owner and a veterinarian if necessary.
I only accept vaccinated dogs and I always aim to provide a safe, clean, and loving environment where dogs can feel at home while their owners are away. My goal is simple: to give both dogs and their owners complete peace of mind.
I typically provide 3 to 4 walks per day, depending on the dog’s age, energy level, and owner’s preferences. Walks usually last between 20 and 60 minutes. I am comfortable caring for puppies, adult dogs, and energetic breeds. Although I do not have a fenced yard, dogs are always supervised and safely walked on a leash. My focus is to provide plenty of exercise, attention, and a calm environment where every dog feels secure and happy.
