Top cities for cat sitting in The Netherlands

Many cat owners will understand that cats can be fussy and prefer their own home environment rather than an unfamiliar place like a cattery or cat hotel. Although some cats can adapt to cat boarding if they have to, most cats become stressed when transported somewhere new.

This is where a friendly Bentveld Pawshake cat feeder or carer can help. Our Bentveld cat sitting expert can come and visit your cat while you are away on holiday or at work. A cat sitter can even stay overnight if required, which is far less stressful than sending your feline friend to a cattery for cat boarding. Whether you just need a sitter for a couple of hours or someone to visit each day for a week, our Bentveld cat sitters can tailor their service to suit you and please even the fussiest kitty.

Although most cats are independent, having a cat carer visit has a lot of benefits. Your chosen Pawshake cat sitter can feed, freshen up the water bowl, tidy the litter tray, and spend quality time with your cat. And unlike a cattery or cat hotel, your cat can chill out in their own familiar space.

Finally, every booking with Pawshake is with a verified carer and includes the Pawshake Guarantee and veterinary coverage, so you have nothing to worry about when it comes to your feline companion!

Hello, so nice that you are considering me as your sitter/walker.
I’m Ieva (pronounced ih-ae-v-ah) with a special background in boarding and training guide dogs for the blind (in the UK). This gave me valuable skills in structure, patience, and understanding how to support each dog’s unique personality and needs.
I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember, growing up surrounded by both dogs and cats. As a teenager, I had a Labrador who was by my side well into my twenties. Ever since then, I’ve felt a big void, and I fill that by caring for other people’s beloved pets.

For me, pets are family. I follow your routines and preferences—whether your dog sleeps at the end of the bed, under the covers, or anywhere in between. Every pet in my care is treated with love, respect, and plenty of affection.
Pawshake isn’t just a job for me, it’s companionship, connection, and the happiness of meeting so many wonderful personalities and breeds.

Experience With Breeds
Terriers, Labradors, Retrievers, Staffordshires, Pugs, Beagles, Chow Chows, Chihuahuas, Bulldogs, Maltese, Border Collie mixes, Bernadoodles, and many lovely mixed-breeds. Every dog teaches me something new.

️ Before Booking (Important)
To ensure a safe and positive experience for everyone, please share any behavioural quirks your dog may have—such as barking, chewing, reactivity, separation anxiety, guarding, or aggression.
I’m experienced with a wide range of behaviours, but transparency is essential so I can understand if we’re the right match and provide the best possible care. This keeps both your dog and me safe and comfortable.

Hi! My name is Ozge, and I live in Haarlem. I’m an animal lover, runner, and active person who truly enjoys spending time outdoors — so walking dogs is the perfect combination for me!
I grew up around animals and have experience taking care of both small and large dogs for friends and family. I’m patient, responsible, and make sure every dog feels safe, happy, and loved when they’re with me.
What I Offer
Daily dog walks around Haarlem’s beautiful parks and neighborhoods
Home visits to feed, play, and check on your pets
Overnight pet sitting at your home if you’re away
Regular updates, photos, and messages so you always know how your dog is doing
Your dog’s comfort and routine are my priority — whether it’s a short walk, a long adventure, or cozy company while you’re away.
If you’re looking for someone trustworthy, caring, and active to look after your furry friend, I’d be happy to help!

I’m a passionate animal lover, especially when it comes to dogs and cats! I’ve grown up with pets and have had my own dogs and cats for over 10 years, so caring for animals is second nature to me. Professionally, I’ve worked for four years in a major pet store, where I gained extensive knowledge about dog breeds, diets, exercise routines, and overall health. I also spent two years working in a grooming salon, ensuring dogs were happy, well-groomed, and comfortable. Beyond dogs, I’ve cared for small pets, cats, birds, rabbits, rodents, lizards, and fish, giving me a well-rounded understanding of animal care. I am also a dog owner of 1 long-haired Dachshund, currently he is away in the US for now as he is keeping my parents company <3
I truly enjoy spending quality time with dogs and making each day special for them. I love playing fetch, going on walks, giving lots of cuddles, and ensuring they eat on schedule according to their owner’s instructions. I’m attentive, responsible, and reliable, always making sure dogs feel safe, happy, and loved while I’m in charge. My combination of hands-on experience, patience, and genuine affection for animals makes me confident in providing top-quality care—whether it’s dog walking, sitting, or just spending fun, meaningful time together.
I would be thrilled to bring my experience, energy, and love for animals to take care of your dogs, ensuring they are not only safe and well-cared for but also feel loved and happy every day. :D!

Hi there, fellow pet lovers! I’m a mom of two wonderful daughters who are at school most of the day—which means I have time to share my love with some four-legged (or finned or feathered!) friends.
We are an animal loving family and help out our neighbors as often as we can. Whether your dog needs a walk, your cat demands royal treatment, or your hamster just wants someone who understands the importance of a well-placed sunflower seed, I’m here to help. I offer personalized visits to feed, refresh water, clean litter trays, and of course, play and snuggle. Does your pup need a walk or two during the day while you're at work, I'm here for you! I’m happy to send photo and video updates so you can see your pet’s happy face while you’re away. I also offer light home care like watering plants, switching lights, and keeping an eye on things.
Whether your pet needs a playmate, a walking companion, a cuddle buddy, or just someone to sit nearby while they nap like royalty—I’m here for it. I’d love to meet you and your beloved companion!

Hello my name is Emerald, I am 21 years old, and am a very passionate world traveller. I grew up mostly in France, but started travelling with my parents long term since I was 10 years old. Now that I am older I've continued to travel on my own, and have taken to many different cultures as education.
In general I am a very playful and energetic person, always open to new experiences. Since I could remember I've always been really passionate about animals, but had never had any pets growing up, so I'd take any chance I'd get to spend time with other peoples pets! Now I have just moved to Haarlem, Netherlands, and have decided to continue my passion for animals through pet care and walking, so I would be very happy to be able to spend some time with animals in need of some love and care while their owners are away!
I am an experienced dog walker, and have trained and walked many different dog breeds, large, small and everything in between. I have spent significant time working as a pet groomer where I washed and groomed a lot of dogs that I've cared for. I also have experience watching dogs and cats of different temperaments; very anxious animals, at their houses while the owners were away through other platforms.

Hoi!

Hi, I'm Judy and I moved here from South Africa 8 years ago. I have grown up with dogs most of my life and would love to have one of my own now but we have a mom and son cat duo and I don't want to risk scaring them off by introducing a dog into their space.
I live close to Groenendalsebos and I regularly walk in the dog section because I love watching how dogs play and interact. I can easily walk around there for over an hour. I'm sure any dog would love the chance to run and smell around the bos with me! I am also quite close to Meermond so I could take a dog for a walk on the lead around there and at the back of Herenboeren too.
I have a flexible work set up so I could walk dogs and do house visits pretty much any time between 08:00 and 15:00
