I've been a cat sitter for two years now, but my story with cats goes back much further. I’m 31, and although I’ve been living in the Netherlands for two years, it still feels like I’m adjusting to this new chapter of my life. In an effort to adapt to a foreign country, its culture, and language, I’ve been working at Albert Heijn. However, my actual profession is managing post-sales customer support in the software industry, and I’m also pursuing a degree in Public Relations and Advertising remotely.

Back home, I have two beloved cats, a 10-year-old male and female. Both of them are neutered, and they’ve been a huge part of my life. When I moved here, I had to leave them behind due to a housing crisis, and it broke my heart. My female cat is especially dear to me—she’s survived leukemia twice, and the stress of moving her across countries felt too risky at the time. So, for now, my family is caring for them, and I visit whenever I can.

Living here without them has been difficult. I miss their presence every day, and that’s why the idea of taking care of your cats excites me. I recently moved over from Australia where I dogsat regularly for the last 5yrs. I am excited to continue this here! I'm a big dog lover and will look after your furry-friend as if they were my own. I have experience with all sorts of dog breeds but mainly poodle-cross breeds (e.g. groodle, poodle, labradoodle etc).
I am based in the centre of Haarlem near the train station. Unfortunately, my current rental does not allow pets in my residence so I will only be offering the following services:
&gt; dog walking - eg 1hr walk in the neighbourhood
&gt; fun adventures out - eg taking your dog on a day trip to the dunes/beach/forest/dog park
&gt; or, looking after your pet at your house.

HOW IT WORKS:
&gt; House Sitting: I stay at your home overnight + look after your dog with lots of cuddles and walks. My calendar shows availability for this service only over Fri-Sun - I may make exceptions if you message me.
&gt; Day Care: I take your dog on a fun adventure out, this is usually 3-6 hours and to be agreed on together. Some examples of what we might do include: a trip to the beach/dunes/forest hike/dog park. I can pick up and drop off with this service. I offer this service over the weekend.
&gt; Dog Walking*: Walking and spending time with the dog in the neighbourhood, usually 0.5-1hr, to be agreed together.
&gt; Home Visit*: I will go to your home for approximately 30mins per pet. I will make sure that bowls are clean and fresh food and water is supplied to make sure your pets are comfortable and cosy. I'll also spend time giving them pats and playing to give them some socialising time while you are away. If your pet requires extra attention I am flexible and happy to discuss - I want to make sure your pet is cared for in a way they are used to!&nbsp;
* I am offering these services only to furry friends in the inner-Haarlem area. The other services I am open to commuting a bit further.Once you message, I will organise a meet and greet either virtually or around the neighbourhood to ensure your pet and I are a good fit. Hi  My name is Kate. I'm 30 and have recently moved from Dublin, Ireland to Haarlem for a year with my partner Shane and our little doggo Harry. Harry is a Cockapoo that we rescued last year. He is great with other female dogs and loves to play. Shane and I are new to dog sitting. We found it quite hard to find a dog sitter for Harry and wished more people like us would offer up their services. Both Shane and I are animal lovers. We grew up with many dogs and cats. We will shower your dog with love and can work to their schedule.What to expect for Dog Boarding:I work remotely so will be home 24/7 to ensure that your dog is taken care of and goes on at least 2 walks a day, at lunch and in the evening. Our home is comfortable for small to medium dogs with a small deck where they can stretch out and have a little wander. I would expect any dogs that we care for to be leash-trained and not aggressive when on walks with other dogs. We also can't take on any loud dogs as we live in an apartment.Please don't hesitate to get in contact if you have any additional questions or requirements!


Sinds mijn hond is overleden heb ik besloten om zolang ik fulltime werk, geen hond meer te nemen. Dat doet me verdriet, maar het is niet eerlijk om een hond zo vaak alleen te laten. Ik mis daarom wel een hond om me heen en wil graag op jouw hond(en) passen op dagen/tijden dat ik wel thuis ben! Ik werk vaak thuis, dat is prima te combineren met een oppashond.
Ik ben opgegroeid met teckels, eigenwijze honden ben ik dus gewend. Ik heb geen ervaring met hele grote honden (maar ik vind ze wel lief). ik heb al best veel oppas ervaring, zo heb ik op een corgi, French bulldogs en mixjes gepast. Een gladharig teckel duo behoort tot mijn vaste gasten.&nbsp;Ik ben een ervaren hondenoppasser.
Mijn 14 jarige dochter is ook gek op honden. Ze kan het prima met de hond van mijn ouders (beagle) vinden. De hond samen uitlaten vindt ze gezellig. Mijn man houdt ook van honden, vooral als je er een beetje mee kunt ravotten. Van knuffelen met honden houden we alledrie!
We wonen in een rijtjeshuis met een afgesloten tuin, zomers staat de achterdeur meestal open, honden kunnen niet ontsnappen.
We hebben een makkelijk te onderhouden woonkamer, met een grintvloer. Mocht er een ongelukje gebeuren, is dit zo opgeruimd. Wat mij betreft mogen honden op de bank.
Een klein rondje om kan, daar is ruimte met gras en bomen. Het Schoterbos is een park bij mij om de hoek, daar laat ik honden graag uit, een ronde daar duurt zo'n half uur tot drie kwartier. In eerste instantie laat ik een hond niet los maar als het baasje aangeeft dat het kan en ik heb daar ook vertrouwen is dan is dat nog leuker voor de hond natuurlijk.
Overige diensten kunnen op aanvraag en na bespreking.
Ik zal geen vaccinatie check doen, het is aan de baasjes of ze dit willen of niet. 
Ik hou me aan voedingswensen en allergieën. Graag eigen voeding meebrengen.
Geld dat ik verdien met oppassen gaat 100% naar mijn stichting voor kansarme kinderen in Zuidelijk Afrika.

I have five cats here in Haarlem, which I adore and couldn't live without.

I am aware of how difficult it might be to find a trustworthy person to take care of your beloved furry friend while you are away, that's the reason why I'm here: to hopefully help you with some peace of mind during your holidays and/or working days away from home.

It is also possible for me (when living nearby) to stay at your place if needed during your holidays (under discussion) since my boyfriend will take care of our own cats.

Hi, ik ben Matya en ik woon in Haarlem samen met twee eigenwijze katten, Hannes en Guus. Hannes is het liefst altijd buiten en iedereen in de steeg komt ze kopjes geven. Hannes is binnen bij mensen juist erg schuw en wat angstig. Guus lijkt een stoere rode kater, maar zit het liefst binnen op schoot. Tot hij er geen zin meer in heeft dat je hem aait, dus ik let altijd goed op de signalen die hij afgeeft ;-) Ik heb vroeger ook op katten en huizen gepast en ik pas nog steeds op de katten van mijn zus en van een vriendin. Dit zou ik graag vaker willen doen! 
In mijn dagelijks leven ben ik hoofd bedrijfsvoering bij BIMHUIS in Amsterdam. Ik heb altijd in de culturele sector gewerkt, in Haarlem zit ik onder andere achter Parksessies en Boring festival. Katten heb ik altijd het leukst gevonden van alle dieren. Ze zijn eigenzinnig, doen over het algemeen wat ze zelf willen, grappig en doorgaans erg lief. 
In de weekenden ben ik zeer flexibel! Indien ik een thuiswerkdag heb doordeweeks kan ik ook langskomen, bij voorkeur in de ochtend of avond. Bij huisbezoeken vind ik het geen probleem om bijvoorbeeld ook de post even te verzamelen en planten water te geven. Ik heb een paar keer medicatie moeten geven aan Guus en dat ging altijd goed, met name als je het in "easy-pil" verstopt. Hopelijk tot snel! 

Vanwege verhuizing binnen Haarlem pas ik deze zomer, nazomer en herfst op huizen en huisdieren. Overdag ben ik in Amstelveen- en 's avonds in Haarlem omgeving beschikbaar om uw huisdier uit te laten of even gezelschap te komen houden of verzorgen. Vanaf 12 september ben ik nog op zoek naar een leuk huis- en huisdier(en) oppas adres waar ik ook zou kunnen blijven overnachten. 

Ik ben van jongs af aan opgegroeid met honden en katten (zie foto galerij) maar ook vissen en knaagdieren en ik ben bekend met de verscheidenheid aan gebruiksaanwijzingen en karakters  Ik hou van de gezelligheid en levendigheid die huisdieren brengen en weet uit ervaring hoe belangrijk het is om te weten dat ze in goede handen zijn tijdens uw afwezigheid. 

Ik heb ervaring met kleine en grote honden en het trainen van honden doe ik desgewenst met veel plezier. Ik hou er van om een stuk met ze buiten te lopen en/of lekker even bij ze te zitten en ze gezelschap te houden. Ook katten vind ik hartstikke gezellig. Zowel de honden als de katten hoeven echt geen allemansvriendjes te zijn. Ik neem mijn tijd voor ze en zorg dat ze de tijd en aandacht krijgen die ze nodig hebben tijdens uw afwezigheid.

Ik neem daarom de overdracht en alle instructies en voor hen belangrijke routines serieus ter harte en deel met plezier geregeld updates en foto's zodat u zorgeloos van uw vakantie / reis kunt genieten. 

Kortom, ik ben gek op dieren en zie er naar uit uw trouwe maatje(s) een goede tijd te bezorgen tijdens uw vakantie/afwezigheid!
