Hi, me and my Shiba Inu Dexter moved to the Netherlands nearly 4 years ago, from the states. We now call Zaandam our home. My house has a nice open floor plan and a small garden just right for small to medium sized pups and plenty of space for cats as well.
I've always had pets as long as I can remember. Usually mixed breed pups we would adopt from shelters or stray cats that needed homes. Our pets would vary from puppies to nearly 16-17 years old. We even had a blind dog named Nomosee, who was just the sweetest. I grew up in the country so most of our animals were outdoor pets but having lived in cities for over a decade now I've got that routine down as well. We take 2-3 walks a day with a lovely little park nearby and even a nice big lot for some off-leash time. I've always loved animals of every shape and size and since I'm still working from home for the foreseeable future I thought it would be nice to have some extra company around for myself and Dexter.
Dexter is 8 years old and unlike the stereotype a lot of Shibas get, he's very friendly and laid back. He gets along well with cats, usually just leaving them alone and he enjoys the company of dogs around his size or smaller. He's not neutered so larger male dogs don't typically get along with him.
What's included in the services you offer?
Walks will be 2-3 times a day for 15-30 minutes each, depending on the dogs needs. I can board up to 2 dogs at a time, there's plenty of room. There are plenty of toys to play with and I can provide up to an hour of playtime each day.
I will be sat in my office for most of the day, your pet is welcome to join me, but other then that I'm usually free in the evenings for playtime. I do prefer dogs to be potty trained but for puppies I can make exceptions to ensure they are taken outside frequently enough.
What is your availability like?
I work from home so I will be with your pet all day and night. You can expect your pet won't be left alone for anymore than 3 hours maximum.
What is your home like?
I live alone with my dog. There is lots of room to roam as my house has a open floor plan with 2 stories and includes a small, fenced in, garden out the back. The fencing and gates are secure. As in most NL houses, my stairs are very steep and my floors are polished wood which doesn't always provide the most traction for little paws.
Where are the guest pets allowed to sleep?
Wherever they'd like, I have dog blankets on all my furniture and several dog beds spread through the house.
Miranda and Dexter are perfect companions for my Bentley when I’m traveling. Highly recommend them for your buddy as well.
Miranda took care of our dog Zoe in her beautiful home in Zaandam. Communication was great and it was clear Zoe enjoyed her time. Would definitely recommend.
